Oh, No..

Chris3995594d ago

Just looks under-saturated and over-exposed.

beavis4play5594d ago

after seeing KZ2 and rage...........this is nothing special.

Montrealien5594d ago (Edited 5594d ago )

Let`s knock on a game we know nothing about and have not even tried yet.

I happen to know a few people working on this project and they are working their arse of to make a great game, maybe you kids should actually work in the industry and see how hard it is to get an original IP of the ground instead of being cynical little ******.

Do you guys even know the budgets of KZ2 and Rage? Give AM2 a little credit. And go praise the big games instead of coming to knock on the small studios trying to do something to break out.

Do people realize that "beast" from Illuminate Labs is the lighting middle ware used on the following games: Kill Zone2, Gran Turismo, Mirrors Edge, Mass Effect among others including Wet? I can agree that I'm not overly impressed with most of those screen shots; however, it looks like they are doing caustic light reflections and translucency in this game, and I'm not sure I've seen a game use those techniques before. I think Gran Turismo may, but I've not seen enough of it to say for sure.

here is a link to Illuminate Labs gallery if you want to see games that use it:
http://www.illuminatelabs.c...

also take a look at this particular image:
http://www.illuminatelabs.c...
Notice that many of the leaves seem to be lit from behind indicating translucency, a very real thing that very few games actually simulate. Also notice the caustic reflections from the water on the concrete behind the guy looking up. Caustics in water or under water have been faked or simulated in some games, but I'm not sure if caustic reflections have ever been simulated before.

Great links. Bubble up!

So, they license like a light engine to game developers? Any idea why the light in GT Prologue looks different than say Folklore, even though it's on the same hardware? I played these two so I have an idea what they look like. Maybe different version of the "engine"?

ar5593d ago

See the engine like a toolbox. The result depends on the tools you use.

It sounds like something you'd name a porno.

Deathmammoth5594d ago

LMFAO!!!! that just made my day, but on a serious note the lighting system doesn't look that great.

Faztkiller5594d ago (Edited 5594d ago )

graphics are better than Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2 and MGS 4

cyclindk5594d ago

I thought this was a porno... bada bing...

outlawlife5594d ago

the lighting in this game doesn't seem to be anything that ahsn't ben done before

and personally i don't find it all that attractive so i'm going to add my name to the list of nays

MGOelite5594d ago

the lighting only looks as good as far cry 2

Xwow20085594d ago

has the best Lighting in any game 2 date.

Montrealien5594d ago (Edited 5594d ago )

KZ2 has a 60 Million + budget. It better have the best lighting.

ar5593d ago

Funny you should mention that since KZ2 uses the same lightning engine: http://www.illuminatelabs.c...

Looking Back to 2009 and WET

Nick writes: "WET was a pretty cool experimental project; a mixture of Stranglehold and Max Payne with a bullet-time mechanic and 70’s china-town movie style."

Blurs servers were the main issue but would love to see it return.

AZRoboto2480d ago

I'll point out that these games are all from the X360/PS3 era - they've already had HD releases when they first came out. Split/Second and Blur - with the crazy vehicle physics capable today, why would we not want sequels to them?

The other games, all a matter of opinion of course, but... thank you for your ads between every single game. /s

TheDCD2480d ago

Problem with sequels is that they aren't very likely. Activision dropped Blur like a bad habit, and Disney isn't doing games anymore. So I'll happily take the originals.

Relientk772480d ago

Remember Me
Enslaved: Odyssey to the West
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning

Miss_Weeboo2480d ago

Alan Wake
Lost Odyssey
Demon Souls

TheDCD2479d ago

As much as I'd kill for a Demon's Souls remake, isn't likely. We'll probably get Bloodborne 2 instead.

PhoenixUp2480d ago

Dafuq kinda title is that? These games were already released on HD consoles though...
