Five reasons Elder Scrolls IV will be better on PS3

While it may have struck out for adventure on Xbox 360 roughly a year ago, PS3 is still treated to a bigger, better and more beautiful experience. Oblivion is the first game to so obviously acknowledge PS3's more flexible hardware, while winning a round of one-upmanship with Microsoft's great white hope. Here's GamesRadar's five reasons why Bethesda's life-comsuming epic will bring the crowds to PS3.

Firstly the game is a year old been there done that and only £22.99 on gameplay.com, how much on PS3? Oh wait around £50! Its a port with less content than the 360 version because if you forget the PS3 has MEMORY ISSUES! Also the 360 has a better GPU so it can outdo the PS3 graphically thats a solid fact set in stone.
Also who is getting Shivering Isles first? Oh that would be the 360 and PC wheres the PS3 version? Nowhere to be found.

Also if you havent read already the 360 will get a GRAPHICAL UPDATE that will make it EVEN with the PS3 version!! STRIKE 3 YOUR OUT!

"Above: It's exactly $4.83 cheaper than on Xbox 360"

"And, if anyone tries to tell you that PS3 won't see further content because of mythical memory issues, just give them a withering look. In a video interview that'll hit GamesRadar tomorrow morning, Bethesda's Pete Hines told us exactly why the downloadable goodies now available for 360 and PC aren't included, and it's nothing to do with RAM. He even confirmed that PS3 will see a Shivering Isles download this year. But whatever you pay to download in the future, Oblivion will always be that little cheaper to begin with on PS3."

Bethesda devs just wanted more time to test downloadable content using 'PS Network'.X360 owners are just jealous of all the extra content that the PS3 version has.Not to mention the visual improvements, bug fixes, frame rate fixes, loading times halved. Some of which are only possible cos of the 'PS3 hardware'.

PS3fan - "Some of which are only possible cos of the 'PS3 hardware'"

Dont you mean. "All of these are only possible cos of the EXTRA YEAR ITS HAD TO BE WORKED ON!?

yea, i think thats what you meant to say :)
Either way, at least your getting the game. Enjoy!

MikeGdaGod6282d ago

i think what ps3fan was talkin about was that because of the ps3 HD the load times were fixed. because all 360s dont have HDs this cant be fixed for them. i think thats what he meant

"Oh wait around £50! Its a port with less content than the 360 version because if you forget the PS3 has MEMORY ISSUES! Also the 360 has a better GPU so it can outdo the PS3 graphically thats a solid fact set in stone."

"Also who is getting Shivering Isles first? Oh that would be the 360 and PC wheres the PS3 version? Nowhere to be found."

I thought that xbox 360 version was getting patched around the time of shivering isles to upgrade the shader engine and so the graphics between the ps3 and the 360 would be identical?

MissAubrey6282d ago

The 360 is getting patched.

peksi6283d ago (Edited 6283d ago )

Even though I'm interested in PS3 I think this is more just hyping. Graphical upgrades will come to both systems (I think?) and it's a fabulous game for all platforms. Please just keep it that way.

If this is true, I hope it leads to Morrowind getting remade next.

-Foxtrot8d ago

I thought they’d go for Morrowind first to be honest but this is a welcoming surprise to tide us over before ES6

TheColbertinator8d ago

Well said. Exactly my thoughts too.

Tedakin8d ago

Unreal Engine isn't efficient for open world games, so I question the reliability of this story.

isarai8d ago

Yeah, 1st thing that came to my mind too, although i CAN see it being likely for ease if use, but it's not going to run very well if so

Tacoboto8d ago (Edited 8d ago )

I'd wonder if it would just be exploiting Unreal for graphics but the underlying engine/logic is still the original framework.

Like how we had the graphical remakes of Halo Anniversary, Tomb Raider I-III, and Demon's Souls.

Could also end up a disaster like the GTA Trilogy

mkis0077d ago

I have heard that too but even if it's modified isnt arkham knight UE?

Fragslayer7d ago

"remake will run both an Unreal Engine 5 project and the old Oblivion project. For instance, new graphics are rendered in the Unreal Engine 5 project, but most of the gameplay and physics are still done on the original Oblivion engine"

So with this logic it'll run just fine using UE5 tool sets on top of Gamebryo's engine or maybe even Creation Engine, who knows.

Hopefully modders can fix the aged combart in this game if this is true. Enemies leveling up with you broke and defeated the whole purpose of leveling up.

Fragslayer7d ago

Yeah it could use some tuning for sure hence the need for a Remake not a Remaster. I'm surprised it's even a conversation within them group which makes me skeptical it's Oblivion. I wouldn't say they shouldn't level up at all though maybe just a leave them a couple levels behind to appease the masses.
