lol..where you going to find them at that price is the big question. They may be cheaper at msrp but go to ebay and the scalpers are selling them for more than than the RTX 4080

Kados534d ago

They are readily available at most places. The chip shortage is over, and GPU based crypto mining, which is where most of the scalped 30xx series ended up selling, is completely dead. Scalpers have actually been trying to return stock to the stores for refunds and stores have been refusing refunds, leaving the scalpers stuck with them.

In Germany the only places available have them for around 1700-1800€, cheapest i could find was 1269€ "available soon". The 4080 is readily available for 1350€. For 1000€ i would have considered getting the xtx but 4080 seems to be the better choice right now. At least in Germany

Not available at MSRP, I would happy if you provide me a link to one (7900 XTX).

Scalpers are not interested in the RTX 4080 and 4090 because they're already too high lol. But I do believe a price cut will happen soon

I decided to wait as I do not NEED a new GPU right now. I was in the queue on AMD on launch day, but when I went to checkout, I just trashed the cart and kept it moving.

My question is will the 7900xtx be the top tier card from AMD this cycle, or is another card waiting to be revealed.

Yeah the 4080 is a rip off frankly

XBManiac534d ago

This can only go better every month, with new drivers. AI and cache are not in use yet, Blender and other applications are not accelerated yet... power is in protective status by default... well... games work. But AMD have a winner here.

I wait for rx 8900 XT, can't be bother upgrade right now, not really massive in perform to buy another GPU yet.

Well if the ps5 pro and Xbox XX will use some kind of 7700 it will be also a big jump.

I_am_Batman532d ago (Edited 532d ago )

They're much more likely to use RDNA4 base and come out near the end of 2024 in my opinion. RDNA3 simply isn't a big enough leap in performance per watt to make them viable yet.

Overall RDNA3 is a letdown. AMD overpromised and underdelivered to a point where it's hard to understand what they were thinking when they took the stage to announce the RDNA3 cards 6 weeks ago.

Two gens jump, at least, if cache grows in the "PC way".

Nvidia RTX 4080 wins in performance but not price. But the 7900 is still kinda expensive so I don't know if it's a win for AMD especially since there's a rumor that Nvidia is going to lower the price of the RTX 4080 soon. Performance isn't necessarily double from existing RX 6900 cards.

From the reviews, the "value" cards are still the RX 6900 and RTX 3080 -- if they can be found for < $600.
