Metallica Fought to get Slayer Included in Their Game

Kombo writes, "As you can only imagine, Metallica had an uphill battle to get their game approved due to some of the lyrics and content within their songs. Though Metallica are no saints, they actually had a more difficult time trying to get Slayer approved to appear in the game. So what was the big snag? Hit the jump to find out..."

I never in my life thought that I would ever want to buy guitar hero or rock band. But Slayer is my favorite band in the world. All that is missing is Killswitch, Slipknot, Mudvayne, and Machine Head. I wonder if you could ask for certain bands to be put in this game?

Would be sweet to play Mandatory suicide in GH.

I'd love to see some more real metal in there as well. Enough with this christian fashion metal bs. Can't stand nu-metal bands with their boyband emo choruses and overproduced songs. Give us some Carpathian Forest, Necrophagia and Bloodbath!

This will definately be the Guitar Hero that hardcore metal fans have been looking for.

The weird thing is that Slayer was in Guitar Hero 3 so I don't see why there should be any hesitation to put them in there again.

The 10 Most Metal Games of All Time

GamesRadar - Blacker than the blackest black, times infinity

In many ways video games and heavy metal go hand in hand, at least when their digits aren’t occupied with a multiplayer match and/or mind-melting guitar solo. A huge number of games revel in the savagery metal is known for, letting you eviscerate armies of enemies just as soundly as fierce riffs eviscerate mortal souls. Games like Gears of War, Manhunt, Dead Space, and Postal are all examples of carnage, violence, and destruction, so they're totally metal, right?

Brutal Legend soundtrack it's epic, probably one of the best ever. Shadows of the Damned it's awesome, so underrated, sadly.
Bayonetta and Twisted Metal are classics, i still need to play Splatterhouse.

Rocksmith Can Teach Us To Truly Rock, Unlike Guitar Hero

Ubisoft announced recently that it will be releasing a new guitar-based video game called Rocksmith. Unlike Guitar Hero and Rockband, this game will allow gamers to actually learn how to play the guitar rather than just pressing a set of colored buttons.

So is Rocksmith the guitar game aspiring musicians have been truly looking for?
