Redout 2 feels like a game made for people who love and play a lot of arcade racing games.

I read reviews saying that even the tutorial levels were too hard ... I easily breezed through them. lol. Maybe it just isn't a pleasant experience for casual players. idk.

To be fair, I used the Wipeout control layout on Redout 1, and found using the right stick very strange, but I'm trying to get used to using it this time.

Well, they updated the difficulty, but yes I also didnt find Redout 1 and 2 very hard. More difficult than Gran Turismo, Dirt and Forza for sure but its not the Dark Souls of racing games ;)

Maybe try also out BallisticNG..best WipeOut-like game ever.

I said it once, I'll say it again, Bring Back Split/Second. A modern-day version would be on this list IMO.

Have you ever played Unbounded (Ridge Racer: Unbounded)?

It's not really a Ridge Racer game at all (it was made by the developers of Wreckfest).

There's shortcuts and parts of the map you can blow up that are Split/Second-esque (e.g. speed through a tanker that blows up all nearby racers).

It has takedowns like Burnout (the car and environment destruction is really good). There's frag events which revolve around takedowns (some are in more powerful vehicles like trucks).

It the most underrated racing game I've ever played. It's just one of those games that shouldn't be under a certain brand like Need For Speed Most Wanted (2012), but it's great fun.

You can even make your own tracks. Definitely check it out if you can.

Just played the NFS Unbound trial and it feels the same as the last three NFS games which weren't great.

depends on what kind of racing you're into i suppose. some racers have really good sims like Asetto Corsa and Project Cars, some split the line being "simcade" like Gran Turismo and Forza and some are more arcade like Forza Horion or Need for Speed.

personally speaking I've typically favored Forza Motorsport as my go to racer - especially for online multiplayer. Gran Turismo would be my number 2. In the more arcade like space I'd opt for Forza Horizon. Its just a blast. I don't even bother with the Switch anymore. Feels ancient. If i need mobile I stream with an ipad and xcloud..
