let's stop blaming others when core gamers are just as much to blame. CDPR released an unfinished game and now people are not only defending them but praising the game evne though it doesn't have anywhere near the quality originally showed/promised

we have micro transcations
we have day one dlc and content held back to be sold later
we have NFT's
we have F2P games breaking sales record
we have yearly sports games selling so well even though they have been turned into slot machines

sports games make more money from selling the micro transcations than actual game sales

No. Core gamers make up about 2 million on xbox and 6-8million on playstation. These are the gamers that consistenly support good games.

Cyberpunk 2077 was hyped up too much. The game itself as what it is IS good. Not what was promised...bohoo but it is good. Its receiving praise mainly becuase it was only shat on before and many heard about how bad it was so they stayed clear...now many tried it for themselves and saw it was good.

All that list you have there is the sheep though...mtx are supported by whales, live services are supported by whales and sheep, nfts....um not really a thing, F2P are free to play...they dont sell...youre referring to mtx inside f2p. Yearly sports games have been bad for a long time now because of whales.

Well I went ahead and looked for info and interestingly found many missing features...no match score history or accumulation is....weird. but not a big deal. May grab if for Black Friday.

Hardcore Mode is the major missing feature, because not everyone enjoys emptying an entire clip into someone...only for them to kill you with two bullets. I did hear they'll add it mid-November though...

Another annoyance is dead silence only being a temporary perk that only activates for a short while, leaving the game with ridiculously loud footsteps and ultimately destroying half the fun and pace of Search & Destroy.

Most major gripes are constantly being bitched about on the mw2 reddit page, if you really need more examples..

As a hardcore gamer I'm happy to share in your blame I brought MW2 I also buy a large number of games though and you know what it's fine it's not even close to being as broken as something like the gta trilogy was on launch or cyberpunk.

Calling people sheep for buying cod or a new iPhone / galaxy or sports game is not convincing anyone to abandon something and the reality is these are polished products that do evolve over time but may not be a giant evolution yearly.

Core /hardcore gamers are not some elite sect you have to renounce playing high selling games to get into its just that it's a smaller number that will spend 700 hours playing witcher 3 than cod year on year

@Crows90 - provided MS doesn't block CoD from releasing on Playstation in the future it won't affect the players in the slightest.

MS made it clear that their intention was to remove COD from PlayStation around 2028 (they offered a 3 year deal beyond Activision's existing contractual obligations).

They drew that as a line, and thought that would be enough to get the deal through.

That's the truth behind the scenes. PR is meaningless. Unless something is in writing or concessions are explicitly made to the regulators, their public stance doesn't mean anything.

this is why COD can't be exclusive. we as core gamers can bash it all we want but on yearly basis it's one of the best selling games (almost always top 3 and it releases in october/november and still beat out games which came out earlier)

COD can not be and will not be allowed to be exclusive and luckily UK regulators are actually doing their jobs and not protecting any brand(unlike the US regulators who are more than happy to oblige)

Yeah, won't be surprised if next year we get another remake of another COD. Actually I would not mind a remake of the one that started it all in 2003, the original COD. After all it will be the 20th anniversary next October and I feel it deserves a remake done right, and might as well throw in the best expansion which was Call of Duty: United Offensive along with it.

It’s really not though. The story is vastly different to the original MW2. It’s more of a reimagining than a remake.

What Shocks me more is the fact that nobody else can seem to make a decent shooter.

BF4 was awesome and I enjoyed some of BF5.

BF2042 just isn't a good game.

I'm hoping the next Battlefield made by a different studio will sort this mess out.

Jokes aside this was always going to happen, plus side to this is that there won't be cod next year and this one is actually one of the better ones. Just wish that a multi billion dollar franchise could release a game finished instead of some fucked up beta test that the last 3 or 4 cod's have launched as. All in all though it's a good game, best one since MW2019 (obvs)
