GWG continues to be absolutely dire and in need of putting down.

Also, they didn’t even provide some kind of replacement for the two 360 games they removed? Seriously?

RauLeCreuset565d ago

"GWG continues to be absolutely dire and in need of putting down" is the narrative Xbox wants to come out of this.

Orchard565d ago

I think this is the first time in history we actually agree on something :p

Petebloodyonion565d ago

Why would they want that bad press when the competition is offering way better for the same price or even more way better for 0$ on a PC?

It's not like they could justify a price hike when Epic is exactly the same thing as Xbox Gold value for 0$ (Internet, Cloud save, and games offering).

Welshy565d ago

I don't think anyone should be wanting the GWG benefit removed, as above comments said, that's what they want so that they can stop giving games. Players should be pressuring them to improve it/restore it to the value it once had.

I know MS is gamepass on the brain, but that doesn't mean they should get away with stiffing those who still are Gold members only.

Nacho_Z565d ago

Probably getting shut down soon hence the negative comments, it's a free hit. If it was important to MS you wouldn't be seeing that.

What do you mean put down? Make online and cloud saves free and get rid of the free games?

Orchard565d ago

I meant put down like a sick animal :p

Although I do think online play should be free (cloud saves already are) - and if the free games are going to be as garbage as they have been for the past year or more - they can go.

FallenAngel1984565d ago

“Also, they didn’t even provide some kind of replacement for the two 360 games they removed?”

Sony didn’t provide replacements for PS3 and Vita games getting removed from PS+

lodossrage565d ago

@FallenAngel,

That's not exactly true, They offer a third ps4 (sometimes ps5 game).

Granted, it's still less considering. But it's not nothing either

FallenAngel1984564d ago

Sure NOW they do, but it sure didn’t start out like that. For many months right after PS3 and Vita got taken off, we often only got 2 PS4 games

lodossrage564d ago

Exactly, NOW they do. They didn't do it immediately

I know everyone thinks MS will scrap the gwg stuff but let's see how it look in a year or so from now. They MIGHT do the smart thing and offer series and better xbone games.

Not holding my breath but I'll give the benefit of the doubt....for now.

Petebloodyonion565d ago

In other news, EPIC Game is giving you for free this week Saturnalia and Warhammer 40 000 Mechanicus, yours to keep forever at 0$
next week, 2 better games, etc.
What's the point of GWG again?

Starfield's new Xbox performance modes are thoughtful and comprehensive

Digital Foundry : Bethesda's Starfield was generally a well-regarded RPG, but the game's 30fps target on consoles was the subject of some controversy. The game's massive scope arguably justified that 30fps refresh rate, with only high-end PCs capable of hitting 60fps and higher, but now Bethesda has changed course and opened the floodgates on Xbox Series X consoles following significant optimisation work. Players can now independently select performance and visuals modes at arbitrary frame-rates. How exactly do these new combinations fare, and is 60fps really a possibility after it was explicitly ruled out before?

900p in performance mode for SX.... I'd assume a 5pro would at least hit 1080p if not more.

It’s a point, click and load game. Stop with all the massive scale bullshit. Only thing massive is the number of junk items they decided to throw in the game.

kenpachi8h ago

Was sort of interested in this but if it's true it's an easy pass

jznrpg1h ago

It’s true for sure. Avatar game had online requirement

Tacoboto46m ago

Avatar only had an online requirement to install the disc version, not to play.

This AC really does have Online Play Required marked on it.

Terry_B6h ago

as usual..Don't Buy Ubisoft Games.

Skuletor3h ago

One thing that's messed up about this, is there will be people playing pirated versions of this without that restriction, while the paying customers will suffer. Just like how some games will have lower performance on PC due to DRM, while pirated copies don't.

Anyone that wants to say something like "Who doesn't have internet access in this day and age?" There's plenty reasons people won't always have access, such as living in rural areas with spotty coverage, for example.

banger883h ago

Three single-player games in a row they've done this with now. Those f***ers weren't kidding when they said gamers need to be comfortable with not owning their games. As a physical collector, and somebody who enjoys Ubisoft's open worlds, this is a nightmare scenario for me. Absolute scumbag company.
