and last. the ps2, is a cheap system in its own, new systems dont have backwards compantabily. so what your paying 400$ to play MGS4m LBP, and KZ2, and thats really it. nothing else that is major or cant find a similar experience, and dont go, its a cheap blue-ray... they just had blue rays at my hastings for 189.99 and they where sony brand, not cheap ones.

Home and second life while they share similar characteristics they both have different agendas set....so in the case Home is obviously influenced by Second Life but it's so much different also...so there you go again blabbin away not knowing wat ur really talking about.

The PS3 is far from being a cheap Blu ray player it's actually the best Blu Ray player on the market..

I agree with you, however, isn't it sony's style of business to always improve on their products through iterations during the products lifespan? thus the ps1 got the "dual shock/2 analog stick" controller after being out for a while and then getting slimmed down with the psone. also, the ps2 had constant improvements in hardware where they would rework the innards of the ps2 (thus there were different sku models...it also explains why modding a ps2 depends on what model you have). it's generally sony's way of improving on their product line that is already out. there seems to always be a newer version of their hardware that is slimmed down or have slightly different features added/taken out. (i.e. the ps2 slim, psp-1000/2000/3000, ps3 models with different hard drive sizes and less usb ports and without memory card readers)

i don't know...i guess their support isn't so great? you should really ask sony that...i suppose the fact that their online services are free allows them to do as they please. i mean, i guess that can really suck. it's a double-edged sword and you get what you pay for.

i have to 100% agree with your statement. why? because i don't want to be an idiot. =( and also, because Home as a service is completely free as far as i know...so that makes it cheaper right? i mean...cheap means less money...and Home doesn't require money unless you want to personalize your experience, therefore it must be cheaper! =P

i'm not arguing that sony has "copied" other companies of the past. why is it so wrong to copy anyway? i mean, yea they've "copied" a lot, but at least they try (keyword: try) to make improvements on it. okay, they may have copied nintendo's analog (i don't know if it's fact, but i'm going on your word on it) but didn't they try to make the anolog sticks feel more comfortable and add 2 of them while the N64 had just one? i'm pretty sure i read that sony worked with nintendo to make their next console after NES/SNES, but ditched nintendo because they didn't want to go with a newer format which was the CD-ROM...thus the playstation was born. i guess you can even argue that sony copied nintendo completely by just entering the console market. i mean, didn't every console copy the console that has existed the generation before it? i mean...just to be even more cynical, aren't we all copies of past generations due to our genetic make-up? seriously! what is so wrong about copying? i suppose copying may be very useless and stupid if it's done just for the pure sense of doing it (without making any changes) and hopefully making some sort of profit off of it. but dude...i'm sure sony, microsoft, and nintendo have all copied SOMETHING and tried to improve on that copy, right? if i'm not then please just tell me that whenever i play my ps3, that i'm actually playing a nintendo system because it has dual analog sticks on a controller that rumbles for a system that plays games which happens to be similar to previous consoles because it too plays games.

So then I guess Nintendo stole the CD disc idea from Sony too? Companies use ideas if they work even if they didn't think of them themselves.

Sony might have used the analog idea from Nintendo, but guess what? Sony did used it a lot better than Nintendo did. N64 controllers were horrible. Also you need to read up on the Sony/Nintendo collaboration. Because last I checked it was Nintendo who abandoned Sony behind their back and teamed up with Philps soon after.

Also Sony has as much right as taking items out of home as Microsoft charging you money to play online with your friends. Also to my understanding all those items werent items you paid with your own money. It was just free items. As far as servers go its still a beta..hence the "Beta" logo next to the Home name.

Never even heard of Second Life until I started using this site. Of course Home from what I understand is free....so what is your problem exactly? As far as the 400 dollar price tag; I honestly don't feel like listing all the things why. In fact the same could be said about the 360 and Wii with the way you critized PS3's price.

Here let me show you... the Xbox is a cheap system in fact so cheap you can't even find them new at any retail stores anymore due to it being a failure in Microsoft's eyes. Also the 360's has limited backwards compabilties, so what your paying 200 dollars for with no harddrive just to play Gears and Halo and that's really it.

At first it was a threat to SEGA as Nintendo would have a disc based add-on to compete with the Genesis and SEGA CD. It was a great idea for Nintendo fans as it would bring SONY innovation with Nintendo games. Instead Nintendo felt threatened by a company as big as SONY and duped SONY for Phillips. Of course this propelled SONY into creating their first Playstation. This also kept Nintendo from getting CD rights. Some may agrue that point but there is a reason Nintendo has never actually had a CD based format. SONY could have did the same thing with Microsoft with Blu-ray but that would hurt SONY.

If you don't like home then ok, I think most of us here are cool with that but it seems like some people just want it to fail so hard.
