Returnal PC blog next please.
(its been leaked so many times, the port's existence is anything but false)

Returnal is coming... and yet it was one of the games said to only be possible due to the PS5 SSD. Funny how things change and yes PC have had SSD for much longer and they have them even faster. So will Sony bring R&C as well?

sorry Jay... I didnt make that up. That was pretty much the sentiment from the diehard PS crowd for practically every PS5 release. It became the whole talking point about why it was such an odd size was because it was meant to be uber duber super pooper scooper fast.

Eonjay591d ago

No one ever said anything about the SSD and Returnal. It's has near instant loading but no one ever said anything beyond that. You made that up. Ratchet and Clank does require high speed SSD obviously so I imagine that will take longer to show up on PC and will have a fast SSD required in the min specs.

CrimsonWing69591d ago

Are you sure they weren’t saying that in reference to consoles as to why there isn’t a PS4 version?

Do you have a link to the article for us to follow-up on?

Profchaos591d ago

I don't recall anyone from the dev team make any statements about the ssd they don't even leverage the ssd that much it's rather a traditional game on many respects.

Also PC games can sometimes have SSD in their requirements

mkis007591d ago

Retournal doesn't even load as fast as uncharted.

But what about the ps5 ssd... I thought it was the only system capable of running such a beast of a game?

SPEAKxTHExTRUTH591d ago (Edited 591d ago )

At the end of the day no console will have exclusives anymore. Sony’s first party exclusives are only timed exclusives now and MS don’t know the meaning of exclusives. Either way I’m not a PC guy so I’ll continue to buy exclusives on consoles but it’s good more people get to play these games. Only a hater would be mad about this…

It's strange. I'm not salty, but I am a bit bummed to realize a couple things. Primarily, they made the NVMe with its speed & Kraken compression sound as if it would offer devs abilities to create games and worlds they never could before. But with basically every game slowly coming to PC, they can't make anything that truly relies on it. PC certainly would have fast enough drives by now, but they are expensive & the number of users would be too low for it to be commercially viable to launch on PC. So I guess it is regulated to just being really nice for loading times.

Also a bit bummed that - given I'm pretty patient & have a solid PC - I could have gotten away with not buying the PS5. XB taught me last generation that I would no longer need an XBOX, but I didn't quite expect for Sony to embrace pushing nearly all their stuff on PC. I can get some games a year or two early, sure, and maybe a few games will be PS5 only. But a $500 buy in for those perks is more than I would have been willing to spend, and given the current unending shortages, I could have let someone else have bought the PS5 who was a console only gamer.

Glad others get to enjoy the games as well, and it is nice to know when PS6 comes around I won't have to fork out money for it, but I wish it was more clearly communicated at the start how few hardware exclusives it was going to have.

TiredGamer591d ago

Aside from Returnal, is every PC port thus far a cross-gen (PS4 and PS5) title? Perhaps that's the enabling factor.

i think its a good strategy for sony. Sell consoles at a cost where you break even and make your money on the software. I prefer gaming on a console so that will continue. Theyll make millions porting their games to pc though.

EvertonFC591d ago

Great strategy to double dip giving the games a 2nd wind, just suprised it took Sony to of done it earlier

cammers1995591d ago (Edited 591d ago )

Nintendo will never release their exclusives on other platforms. They could for extra money, but Nintendo has dignity.

While yes Nintendo has Mobile games on IOS/android, those games are specifically built for those platforms and not ports of their exclusives. Sony and Microsoft keep porting their exclusives to other platforms lowering the need to even consider buying their systems.

Omg yes! Man I would love the originals too but I'll take it

XxSPIDEYxX591d ago

Another lost exclusive, next up, Returnal. An actual PS5 exclusive.

Inverno591d ago

God I hope they make LBP 3D next

cammers1995591d ago

I feel like LBP is probably dead. They let the servers die for all the previous games, and barely supported the third main game after release. Media Molecule the original developer has moved on too.

Seeing sonys track record, it sounds about right. Sonys big name PlayStation family friendly offering was ape escape during the ps1/PS2 era. Then it was little big planet for the PS3 era. Now it's Astros Playroom/Astro.

Don't get me wrong though, I love little big planet. I'd love to see a 3d entry that lets you design world's like Dreams.

The 7 Best Co-op Games on PS5

There's no better way to enjoy your PS5 than with friends, so here's our picks of the best co-op games on the console.

Cacabunga121d ago

For coop, get a used switch instead

jznrpg121d ago

I own a Switch and have never played co-op on it. I do play Elden Ring , Demons Souls and some other co/op games with my friends on PS5. Baldurs Gate 3 is the next game I’ll play co-op. Can’t do that on a Switch

Cacabunga120d ago

I was thinking for couch casual immediate fun.. not online coop games that require some adaptation.

Speedrunners Are Exploiting Sackboy's Time Trial Competition With Glitches

Sony announced a contest on Sackboy and the winners would win free PS Plus. However, speedrunners went beyond expectations to break records.

SullysCigar321d ago

That's how 99% of the people at the top of the leader boards do it.

Rynxie321d ago

It's cheating and they should be banned from it and any future tournaments.

If you're participating in a marathon and you cut away from the designated route and used a shortcut to get ahead, you're disqualified. The same should apply here.

ChronoJoe321d ago

Eh, glitches are fair game in 90% of the speedrun community, so it's really on the organisers if they want people to avoid that. They're not like, hacking the leaderboard or anything like that, they're just using movement exploits with the games traversal systems.

PunksOnN4G321d ago

its in the rules anyone doing any glitch will be removed and its as simple as that states it in the rules.

ChronoJoe320d ago

The article here says "One thing to note here is that Sony never mentioned the use of glitches, so their use may actually be allowed to some extent.".

PunksOnN4G320d ago

MY god people its in the TOS Glitches and using other BUGS is against the rules do you people even read i can even see it RIGHT NOW lol my god you people get the answers right in front of u a stil lact dumb LOL
