Team Ninja Explains Why Wo Long Has Only One Difficulty Level, Says It's Not an Easy Game

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty doesn't have an "easy" mode and only has one difficulty level, and Team Ninja explains why.

Sounds pretty cool and intriguing to me, I’ll keep an eye out for this game.

Go play the demo, its a must buy

SoulWarrior597d ago (Edited 597d ago )

I've sunk 600 hours across Nioh 1 and 2, this very much feels like a Nioh to me, which can only be a good thing.

Crows90596d ago

For me it's a good blend of nioh with a sekiro touch. Love it. Day 1 purchase for me unless reviews say it's broken or something.

blackblades596d ago

Except wu long is much faster and has jumping as well as other difference. From what I played it feels different imo but if course its the same dev with same fomula with modification

robtion596d ago

No it is not much faster. Have you played Nioh 2? It even uses the same character creator. The only difference I am seeing so far is the jump button and setting, and extremely slightly different stamina/combat mechanics.

I will buy it as it is basically Nioh 3 but trying to pretend it isn't is weird.

blackblades596d ago (Edited 596d ago )

@Robition yeah i have played it, platinum the 1st and literally got back on nioh 2 right after the demo and im not the only one saying wu has more mobility then nioh. It's also being more compared to sekiro then nioh. There's a difference I can feel it and see it. I also said its the same formula as nioh meaning it has elements of nioh(cas) just modified.

robtion594d ago

@blackblades Yes there is more mobility due to the jump button but the combat is the same a Nioh 2. I don't see how it is any faster.

How is it like Sekiro? It has a jump button that is the only similarity I see. The stealth mechanic is the same as Nioh and nothing like Sekiro.

I know you're not the only one making the comparisons/comments, they are just not accurate as far as I can tell.

Anyway, will still buy the game, looks great but also like more of the same (not a big problem as I love Nioh).

camel_toad596d ago (Edited 596d ago )

I really do love Nioh's combat and weapon variety BUT the lack of enemy variety really wore on me in both games. I hope Wo Long is better off in that area.

It's day one either way though.

CrimsonWing69596d ago

They shouldn’t even need to explain it.

Duke19596d ago

I’m glad they are staying true to their roots, even if it means likely being too difficult to play for some (me included). I love Souls games and wanted to enjoy Nioh 1, 2 more but they were just too damn hard for me lol

jznrpg596d ago

I’m glad you understand that there is room for all types of games even if they are too hard for some .
We have plenty of easy handholding games that point you to your exact destination without thinking at all and that can you can dumb down with difficulty slider so they basically sit there so there is no need to mess with the fewer games that offer some difficulty .
Buy something else is your answer !!

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Has Finally Surpassed 5 Million Players Worldwide

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty has now crossed the famed 5 million player threshold globally, as announced by the developers on Twitter.

Elda58d ago (Edited 58d ago )

If it's saying 5 million players, most of those players are most likely playing through Gamepass especially when the game has only sold a little over a million copies.

Inverno58d ago

So this is gaming now? Counting how many people have bothered to start the game?

ThePacemaker58d ago

Just to please the shareholders.

bartfart58d ago

Wo long was pretty lacking after nioh 2.... Here's hoping rise of the Ronin doesn't continue the trend

X-2358d ago (Edited 58d ago )

I have to be honest, I bought Wo Long because Nioh 2 was so good and thought it would be as good as said game. I ended up fairly disappointed in the end, Nioh 2 was much better. Perhaps if they make a sequel they will knock it out of the park though as this was somewhat the story with Nioh 1's progression into 2.

Interestingly, for streaming metrics, it is not if you started a show/series...what matters most is that finish it.
