OH MY F**KING GOD, this looks absolutely awesome, that bit where Atreus fires the arrow with i assume Fenrir the wolf had my jaw on the ground, and that fight with Thor is gonna be epic, November cant get here soon enough.

chrisx602d ago (Edited 602d ago )

Looks really good for real. When kratos said 'death can have me when it earns me'...cold! Day 0 😅

GaboonViper602d ago

Same Chris, and i was wrong, it was not Fenrir but Skoll and Hati, my jaw is still on the floor.

You took the words right out of my mouth, this is looking so awesome... I'm super pumped now... wow can't wait..

deleted602d ago (Edited 602d ago )

I legit got goosebumps and had a bit of an emotional hit!! WOW!

Possible Spoiler below? Stop if you're not familiar with Norse mythology! Stop if you don't want to read my predicted ending. I could be completely wrong though!

But... the ending is going to be absolutely heart breaking if it takes cues from real Norse mythology (you know who Atreus really is at the end of the first game, and in the lore you may know what happens to him)... Kratos kinda twisted Greek mythology in many ways though, so there's no reason he can't twist Norse even more! (there are so many variations in the real world stories anyways)

Since Kratos wrote himself into Norse Mythology and is a wild card though, it could be that he ultimately sacrifices himself in some way to save Atreus and completely rewrite the Ragnarok myth as we know it. Ragnarok averted. They were really playing up Kratos's past selfishness in the trailer. The most selfless thing of his life he could ever do is to give his life to save his boy and save the world. Ragnarok is supposed to bring about a new era, but the sacrifice could change it completely from what was originally foretold.... a new era, but a completely different new era.

Either way, the end will be gut wretching, but a Kratos sacrifice would at least be a beautiful ending.

Granted Kratos already sacrificed himself to give ''hope'' back to humanity in GOW 3 (...) and something tells me this will not be the last Kratos game, but it will indeed be the end of Norse myth.

@MrVux000 Yea, I'd like to see how the writers address God of War 3's ending also. The answer probably lies in God of War Ascension with the Primordials, who were the original gods of all existence who made the Olympian gods, and seemingly the Norse gods too.

He may have been sent back at the feet of the Primordials after his GOW3 death, and somehow they brought him back in an alternate reality, maybe with a vow to Surtr...who is also a Primordial. Surtr was the second being brought into the Norse realm after Ymir, and is the one fated to destroy the world in Ragnarok. He was defeated by Odin and Thor, where he remains in Muspelheim, forever honing his legendary sword until the fateful day comes.

https://vsbattles.fandom.co...

All Thor and Odin are trying to do is save the realm, they're not really evil. They are on a mission to kill Kratos and Atreus to somehow avert Ragnarok though. How and why? No idea yet.

There could be a foreshadowing at the end of Ascension when Kratos is confronted by Orkos and told the end to his bond would be to spill his innocent blood.

"I was never the warrior my father wanted me to be, but please, all I ask... Give me an honorable death." -Orkos
This is what causes Kratos's agonzing visions of slaughtering his wife and child to overtake him and set about the events of the original God of War trilogy.

What happened at the end of God of War 3 seemingly stopped the agonizing visions after maybe landing at the feet of the Primoridals, but for some reason he was brought back to life and put in the Norse realm.

The Primordials though are the key to how these games can continue. Kratos kills himself, knowing full well he'll never see his son again in the Norse realm. He could continue on though in the future in another alternate reality.

Honestly I have never in my life seen such hype for a game sequel. Yes we have had some huge game releases but the hype for this has been so unreal with Sony showing so little

GOW vs ER the best GOTY competition of all time and I can't believe I am saying this but GOW is the favorite

darthv72602d ago

Thats the power of a trailer. I felt uber hyped when halo 2 trailer hit and then even more hype with halo 3 trailer. And this one just hit all the right feels for GoW. Even more so than the 2018 trailer (which was awesome). Whoever cuts these together deserve a raise.

Yeppp this looksdownright amazinggggg to the surpise of no one!!!

Not long left for us to go before we get our hands on another masterpiece 👌👌👌

ClayRules2012602d ago

Oh, you know it. Fighting his sons was cool, but Thor, it’ll be something else entirely.

Gardenia601d ago

Too bad this also is a last gen title. It will hold back the size of the game and bosses.

Leviathan vs Mjolnir, it’s on!

ClayRules2012602d ago

So on! Plus, we have the blades, that isn’t cheating is it? Lol.

I’ll take the Leviathan 🪓 but golly, Mjolnir, it’s something special too.

Eonjay602d ago

Pretty amazing honestly can't wait!

Snakeeater25601d ago

Down vote ? Why ?
Am curious … is it because there is no lgbt agenda with god of war ? Or because it’s not on Xbox ?

FunAndGun601d ago

I know why you got down votes.

“ It's a great excuse to jump back into the fray with videogame’s second favorite Spartan.”

So you’re saying that the game Hades and its star character, never played it, are bigger more well known and liked than Kratos and the God of War series?

Armyofdarkness120d ago (Edited 120d ago )

He obviously means Kassandra, right?

Gamehard120d ago

I don't think the MC from Hades is a spartan though. Not 100% sure, but yeah I don't know of any other spartan game character that's more popular than Kratos.

Psychonaut85120d ago

Im guessing he’s speaking more broadly and is referring to Master Chief as the most popular “Spartan”

Abnor_Mal120d ago (Edited 120d ago )

That’s likely who it is, I don’t if Master Chief can be considered a “true” Spartan like Kratos lol.

Master Chief Spartan label is just a rank given in the Halo military, sorry not a Halo gamer so I have no clue what their army is called in the game.

But is Master Chief really more popular as a Spartan, interesting question.
