2 new FF13 trailers shown at Jump Festa

The Final Fantasy XIII trailers introduced 3 brand new characters - 2 males and a female, balancing the roster so far at 3 males and 3 females. The new in-game battle system, recently shown in a few Japanese gaming magazines, was also shown off for the first time. The ATB system used in FFX is (in my opinion) the greatest turn-based system used in a JRPG. If 13 even remotely resembles that of 10's combat (which by the sounds of it, it does) then we are in for a treat.

Is still to me, player of all FFs to date, the best entry in the franchise mostly for the fast-paced, flashy turn-based combat it featured. I loved it.

ok now i really want to know how the battle system works. if it's a mixture of the more traditional ATB and the battles in FFXII, it could be great. i dont hate on FFXII at all as a lot of people do, but i certainly dont want it to be exactly like FFXII (during some hectic battles it got confusing managing all the gambits etc..). but they could use some aspects of it. the seamlessness mainly. the only bad thing about the old random battles in older FF games were the damn loading times before and after each encounter.. got a bit tedious sometimes.

most important thing is to make the battles fun but challenging, and STRATEGIC! and bring Tonberry back, lol.
