Evil Dead: The Game's Army of Darkness update released today and it aims to fix the community's biggest problem - early-game demon possession spam.
The Loadout spoke exclusively to key members of the Evil Dead The Game development team about bringing this horror game to PS5, Xbox, and PC and the future.
If you're wondering where one of the most iconic characters from Evil Dead The Game came from, the Flute Boi, we spoke to music director Steve Moltiz about it.
"Saber Interactive and Boss Team Games are today very thrilled and happy to announce that they have just released"Evil Dead: The Game – Game of the Year Edition" on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via the Epic Games Store and, debuting for the first time on Steam." - Saber Interactive and Boss Team Games.
I wish this game had a single player mode and included a continued story of when ash got stuck in the future (the original ending of army of darkness.)
Ok you can't just call a game Game of the Year Edition because it has all the DLC, which I'm assuming is what this is.
Huge fan of the movies and Bruce Campbell, and I even like the series, but they dropped the ball on this one by making it a live service. I don't think it even got 1 GOTY vote.
I love Evil dead its my favourite horror franchise, they needed to make this a single player game with a single player campaign, making it MP like this is just such a let down.
I switched to Survivor from Demon main only just before this update. Played 2 matches last night that my team absolutely should have lost but didn't. I hope it was just some inexperienced Demon's at fault and not a power balance pushed way in favour of survivors now. I might try a demon game tonight just to see. There was always a learning curve to demon play. In that you almost couldn't win until you reached a high level and had some stats built and tricks learned. I'd hate to think this will put new players and possibly old demon players off now and make the already long wait queue for survivors worse.
I see a lot of complaints on forums about the update but yet to see it from the demons perspective myself.
"Possession spam" has never been an issue with teams who stick together. You can counter that as a team.
I play roughly 50/50 survivor and demon, and most losses happen because of teammates who refuse to stick together, loot all the resources instead of giving them to the right characters etc.
Only inexperienced players complain about possession spam.
