The team behind the amazing Metal Gear Online 2 PC project has shared a new update that adds three new maps to it.
While Konami took down the servers (and discontinued) Metal Gear Online 2, this online mode from Metal Gear Solid 4 is once again playable.

Loved MGO. This, Warhawk, and Killzone 2 was my online fix for ages.
I was addicted to those games also! I would love to just play some team sneak again on the ps3.
Just remember that on pc the game is very cpu dependant so try looking into builds with a good cpu. You could also join the discord and they might be able to recommend a good cpu. I hear people can get almost a steady 60fps with 3900x.
MGO 2 was intense. Me and my riot shield providing cover for my backup snipers was always fun
And yet we still can’t play our MGS4 disks via back compat in official Sony hardware because emulating the CELL is too hard for a multi billion dollar company with some of the best engineers.
Loved MGO though - it was seriously underrated!
I spent most matches just tranquilizing dudes from across the map lol.
If my 8700k can pull it off, I'll be giving this a go.

What is MGO2 and when did that release? I played MGO when MGS4 came out, was unaware any other mg game between then and now had mgo....
That's MGO2 - the original MGO released with MGS3. It was my first online experience, yet to be topped for fun and lolz with mates.
MGO 2 the online masterpiece which was included in Metal Gear Solid 4:Guns of the Patriots is getting Finally revived for Official Firmware PS3 consoles.
Yeah, June 12 will be 9 years. It's when I first got a PS3. The 80GB BC bundle with MGS4. Good memories.

Same here! I had an Xbox 360 for little over a year. Loved playing gears of war in it.
And when news came out about metal gear solid coming out exclusively for the PS4. I jumped shipped from the Xbox. Also it was around the same time peoples systems was getting that new feature.

Reeks of fanboyism but its a common story of back then. RROD was so rampant that many left Xbox 360 after.

MGO was awesome and Konami had no idea how to run it well
