When you pare it down, Crackdown is built upon the most fundamental "play" principle. Just like we all discovered in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2 or in Super Mario 64, Crackdown enables gamers to lose themselves completely, discarding time and priorities, hunger, and bodily functions, even ignoring natural disasters. Once you boot it up, the game's allure -- to collect orbs, jump higher and wield more powerful weapons -- will suck you in and leave you wanting more. It's called Crackdown for a reason.
Darren writes: "Despite much moaning and groaning, Xbox has had some smashing console exclusive games during its four generation lifespan. Crackdown was one such game, released in the early years of the Xbox 360"
Still one of my all time favorite games. It hurt to see what happened to Crackdown 3 😔
Gamerheadquarters; "With the jump in power from the Xbox Series X all Xbox 360 and Original Xbox titles that are backwards compatible should be enhanced as soon as they’re available."
They’ve been working the past few years and have become proficient in that department so I definitely think they are capable of such a feat. Their BC through emulation that can natively upscale blows my mind and gives them an advantage over competitors using multiple hardware settings which requires higher clock speeds and produces more heat.
I caught Chaos Theory on sale and was actually blown away by how it scaled on the One X.
I imagine that they'll carry over the functionality of the X regarding playing previous gen games to the series X.
They better have good support for backwards compatibly.... Since they have no 1st pay games LMAO 😂
And xbox one games, there are many underperformed 3rd party games that needs frames boost.
Crackdown is a series of sandbox-style action adventure video games published by Xbox Game Studios. Retro Respawn looks at the first title.
Looks great! Reminds me of one of my all-time faves, Oni. (Best line ever... "It wants...feet.")
....
Have you even played the demo or are you just hating it to hate? I personally think the game is pretty solid. I can't say it would be a favorite of mine as I am not big on the whole "GTA" style of gaming but I certainly wouldn't say it sucks. The game is good...may not be your style of game...but it hardly "sucks" as you so eloquently put. If you really do have legit reasons for not liking it please feel free to post...otherwise your comment pretty much screams I am a fanboy with no real opinion of my own...just that which my console of choice tells me to like.
I think it's pretty obvious that the reviewer has no imagination. There's plenty more to do than the 4 things he talks about. He made it seem that orb hunting was the end all be all of the game, when I really just feel sorry for him.
I love jumping from roof top to roof to throwing guys off the sides. I made this enemy kill like 3 others with one throw I lobbed him through a fence. This game is worth the price.
I also like the Mario64 comparisons because you can jump ontop of peoples heads mario style. TOO SWEET BABY.
