IGN: We recently learned that Resident Evil 7: Biohazard would be getting a next-gen upgrade – but if you acquired the game through the PS Plus Collection, it's not free.
Who says a dud game can't have a video game comeback?
Cyberpunk and No Man's Sky have to be up there. We're lucky and cursed, equally, to have games that can be updated now. For folks old enough to remember the Sega/SNES into PS1 and even 2 eras, if a game came out that was half baked (*cough*Angel of Darkness*cough*) that was it, no redemption. At the same time, having the option for updates shouldn't be an excuse for half assing games.
There are some great VR games but when it comes to iconic series, we think Resident Evil is VR's most powerful IP.
The greatest Resident Evil games (and Resistance) have joined the GeForce NOW library as part of this week's GFN Thursday.
Makes sense. But it feels kinda silly to prevent certain players from upgrading. I felt the same way about ff7 last year.
This has been happening more with Series X games too. Why not just charge $9.99 for the patch? More people would be willing to pay that, rather than buying the game again.
And it shouldn't be? But it also shouldn't be expensive to upgrade. Anything more than €10 would be too much in my opinion.
Does seem a little disingenuous to make the game free on the PS+ collection which is only available to PS5 purchasers, but then not let them have the PS5 upgrade too that's free for regular owners, perhaps they'll realise and update it.
However this is also another case of overentitlement really, it's a shame people can't be happy that they just got the PS4 version for 'free' as it is.
I mean, those who paid retail should get the upgrade.
