Square Enix Set To Astound At Jump Festa 2009?

Although Jump Festa doesn't have the same kind of worldwide recognition as the Tokyo Game Show (due to it primarily being a Manga Expo), it has still pulled a few surprises in the past. However, Square Enix are notorious for using this event to show off world exclusive material and with Jump Festa 2009 happening on the 20th and 21st of December, now is the perfect time to take a look at what we should expect from Square Enix at this year's event.

It's not just about the game being "on PS3 still" it's the perceived imbalance between SE's statements and their actions. They've claimed to support both consoles, but so far they've released 6 products for the 360 in the United States, and 0 for the PS3. They've taken former exclusives from the PS3 and made them multiplatform, while flat-out refusing any notion of making any of their announced 360 exclusives into multiplatform games. They just aren't walking the walk, and we'd like to see Square-Enix give some love to all the consoles, because right now they're heavily biasing towards the 360 and leaving the PS3 in the dust.

Why are you guys so pissed? If MS did pay SE for FFXIII, all that means is that SE has extra money to help put extra polish on Versus.

Ps3 owners are still getting both FFXIII games, so why are people so mad?

Is it because you wanted to use the game to show 360 owners what they were missing by buying a 360?

Or were people looking for some other kind of bragging rights?

Do you feel somehow threatened that a game previously thought to only be possible on Ps3 is also going to 360?

I don't care either way, cause I will be picking up a Ps3 in 2009, but I am just curious to why so much hate?

Let's not forget however how those other 6 products turned out on the 360. Sorry, but anything outside of the FF realm, Squenix has simply put their second string developers on the projects and hopefully their FFXIII will be pure bliss. In the end, having played some of their other stuff released on the 360, I can safely say that much of what they are releasing these days is not up to snuff and that is not to say that the cause for this is the console, it is the lack of care for their IP's on Squenixes' part.

I wouldn't doubt it! Kingdom hearts games use cartoon graphics and have a very kiddie presence. So I wouldn't be surprised if it gets announced for Ps3, Wii, 360, PSP, DS, PC and Ps2!

I've played KH 1 and 2 while I've never even finished a FF game, so I actually care about KH. But still when's the last time Square Enix astounded?

Big announcements are made at random and unexpected times. Every time one of these big events is coming up, the internet goes crazy with rumors and speculation, and all it does it get everybody's hopes up.

Last year they announced Advent Children Complete, Final Fantasy IV: The After and Kingdom Hearts: 358/2.

None of them were expected.
