It's probably because of how long it has taken in the oven. An announcement of an interesting game with a cool trailer will be received well but if it then disappears for years the hype is dead.

It does look great and I'm looking forward to it. Bioshock vibes in some ways.

People only seem to care about exclusives and think that exclusive games are the only games that matter (which is stupid).

The very first reveal looked more interesting than the newer videos. Hopefully they kept most of that early material but chose to feature something different for the newer stuff.

This is about collective man-hours. Here is an example: If 20 people work for 8 hours a day you'd accumulate 160 man-hours per day, even though a day only has 24 hours.

Using Unreal Engine 4, really can't stand that game engine. It has terrible AA filtering: Temporal AA. And if you forcefully disable it on the PC in the ini that can cause other issues. I wish game companies would use ID Tech 7 if they can license it. Other than all of that, the game looks good.
