Doubt square would do a deal with sony since theyre doing that mobile game which includes crises core.

porkChop722d ago

Crisis Core was never available digitally. And I believe there was a licensing issue that was preventing them from remastering the game. There isn't much that can be done there.

septemberindecember721d ago

It's not just a licensing issue, it's a likeness issue. Genesis the primary Antagonist for over half the game, is based off of Gackt, a Japanese musician.

This means he (the musician) gets royalties and, apparently, he has a lot of legal issues going on currently making it harder.

Imo, they should remake the game. Same/similar story but no likeness to get in the way. It would go well with the remake IMO

CrimsonWing69721d ago

Well… he’s going to show up in FF7 Remake and Ever Crisis at some point and those will be available digitally. They should try to renew the license/contract then.

Redrex7000721d ago

ugh... this was the same bs that going on with judgement
wish they would stop hiring star like this

SDuck721d ago

All they need is to redesign the character like Insomniac did to Peter Parker

Knightofelemia721d ago

If Square did pop this game on PS Plus Premium I would play it with with or without trophies. This is one FF game I love next to FF7, FF8, and FFX. Hope Square pops Xenogears on the service as well another favorite RPG as mine.

gold_drake721d ago

yea but they are like alot of other things to consider. square aint so super with when it comes to that kinda stuff.

kindi_boy721d ago

Really? I thought the whole service is a missed opportunity.

gold_drake721d ago (Edited 721d ago )

it depends what you want out of it. but missed opportunity would only be not doing it at all.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII - Reunion Review - DashGamer

Dan Rizzo says "Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII – Reunion is essential gaming to those that adore the Final Fantasy series. Whether you’re a fan of it’s seventh chapter, an admirer of the PlayStation Portable iteration or just wanting to experience a new form of role-playing mastery, this is one of the best action titles to release this fall. Without a doubt, a revisit to Midgar that will leave you with questions that will hopefully be resolved in Rebirth – for fans of the alternate multiverse – or for those that love the original timeline but have yet to play this absolute classic."

The Longest Cutscenes In PlayStation History

Cutscenes pull a game's story together, but sometimes they can be a bit much. These are the longest cutscenes in PlayStation games.

Kojima, Kojima and Kojima?
By far, the worst aspect of his games.

CrimsonWing69546d ago

Man, it’s actually the aspects I look forward to the most in his games.

Phlacky546d ago

Not the most for me but I certainly appreciate his affinity for the cinematic. It's certainly one of the many reasons his games hit for a certain type of gamer and that combined with unique sometimes obtuse gameplay mechanics makes for one of a kind compelling experiences.

porkChop546d ago

It was only a problem for me with MGS4. I don't mind when long cutscenes are balanced with long gameplay sections. In MGS4 though I'd get a long cutscene, play for like 5 minutes, and then get another long cutscene. That gets annoying, though all the cutscenes were really well done.

roadkillers546d ago

Atleast they were entertaining cutscenes. Star Ocean put me to sleep

Shane Kim546d ago (Edited 546d ago )

Same with recent Tales of Arise. Cutscene after cutscene.

TheEroica545d ago (Edited 545d ago )

Sorry you got so many down votes for being so practical. No one in gaming takes advantage of our time more than Kojima. His cutscenes are our pure drivel and severely hamper the overall enjoyment of what's supposed to be an interactive medium. If the writing was good? Maybe that could be forgiven, but it's not... It's layers and layers of insanity pressed into hour long cutscenes.

Let me guess ... MGS4 on the first place? :D

Abnor_Mal546d ago

First thought was MGS4, seems like everyone so far had Kojima on the brain.

ManMarmalade545d ago

^^^^this. But Xenosaga is so good though.

MrNinosan546d ago

DualShockers didn't play Xenosaga I see.

Square Enix trademarks Ever Crisis, The First Soldier, and Shinra logo in Japan

Square Enix filed trademarks for "Ever Crisis" and "The First Soldier" on December 17, 2020 in Japan, as well as the Shinra Electric Power Company logo on December 22. All three trademarks were just…

We've just had the FFVII Remake, and other parts are coming, now there's a possibility we are getting spin offs

...sigh

StoneyYoshi1216d ago

Crysis Core on PSP was fantastic, and I'd love to see that redone on next-gen systems. It's pretty clear that FF7 is one of the more loved storylines that they created and they know that, so why not capitalize on that? They are running a business after all.

-Foxtrot1216d ago (Edited 1216d ago )

They have been capitalizing on that though for years, other FF games deserve some love aswell you know, otherwise it's just going to feel like we're being suffocated. If you are making a remake of VII then your spin off could be other FF titles to keep things fresh so when FFVII Part II comes out you won't end up feeling sick of the VII Universe.

Least give us a prequel / sequel / animated film / remake of something FFVI, VIII or IX related

Over the many years FFVII has had...

Before Crises
Dirge of Cerberus
Crises Core
G-Bike

Final Fantasy VII: On the Way to a Smile novel

Advent Children Film
Last Order OVA Series

A full blown remake spread out over 3-4 parts

Hell I'd take a mobile Triple Triad game at this point

Godmars2901216d ago

Possibly?

You're talking about Square Enix, you know that, right?

Of course they were going to make spin offs.

Though I expect Ever Crisis to be a Crisis Core "remake" since they never re-release that.

CrimsonWing691216d ago (Edited 1216d ago )

Don’t get your panties in a bunch.

This sounds more like it’ll be a Crisis Core Remaster. I doubt it’ll be a Remake or it could be a mobile game spin off. Hell, it could be a book or anime short. Who knows with Square?

To be fair the world of FF7 lends it to more opportunities for spin-offs than any of the other installments. Maybe you could do more with FF 15, but not sure many people would want that.

Nerdmaster1216d ago

[SPOILERS FROM FFVII remake]
Any doubt that "Zack is still alive" change in FFVII remake was just a way to set up for spin offs?

Sirk7x1216d ago

I'm totally okay with that. Zack is the shit lol.

Magic_Spatula1216d ago

Watch it all be related to mobile games where they can get your money with gatcha mechanics and tons and tons of other microtransactions.

RPGer1216d ago (Edited 1216d ago )

Forxrot you missed some of FFVII titles

FFVII (OG)
FFVII International
FFVII Before Crisis
FFVII Last Order OVA
FFVII Crisis Core
FFVII Advent Children
FFVII Dirge Of Cerberus
FFVII Bike
FFVII Advent Children Complete
FFVII On The Way to Smile OVA

(FFVII ports which are devide into 3 main categories: OG, Mobile and enhanced HD with official boasts.)

Lastly, we got FFVII Remake

Each titles are the best for what they are or at least one of best.

FFVII is one of the best FF and Square titles ever, one of the best PS1 games, one of best classics, one of best RPG, one best JRPG and one of the best stories that is coherent and well presented.

gold_drake1216d ago (Edited 1216d ago )

geez mate, stop the bitching lol

we get it, you dont like 7 or the milking of it. but alot of people do, no need to be so bitter everytime this kind of news comes out haha.

RPGer1214d ago

7 is milked a lot maybe, but as a result the fun factor out of it is the best comparing to that boring XIII and lame Dissidia.

Knightofelemia1216d ago (Edited 1216d ago )

They should have ported Crisis Core to a console by now I love that game especially when the FF7 remake came out on the PS4 help build up that hype. Come on Square port it it would be day one for me this news has even peaked my interest.

FallenAngel19841216d ago

It’s a legal rights issue that they can’t rerelease the game thanks to Gackt

gold_drake1215d ago (Edited 1215d ago )

its a damn shame isnt it? but i get it.
buut at the same time... why the hell did they choose one of the biggest pop stars at that time, to write, sing, act and give his face for not one BUT TWO DAMN GAMES. i mean come on.

SDuck1216d ago

Crisis Core's... well core story should be part of the remake! I need Price of Freedom to be as known and beloved as One Winged Angel!
