Video: Gears of War 2 grenade tags and melees ... through walls?

Here's a video that'll cause even more "give us a darn Gears 2 game patch Epic!" demands, one that shows off a newly found multiplayer game bug that just shouldn't have made it through play testing.

Seemingly, anywhere a wall can be accessed from both sides, players are able to not only melee another player through the wall, but also stick them with a grenade. We're pointing this out because it's actually a BIG and annoying bug rather then a user exploit or glitch. It's in the game and just shouldn't be. Please, "give us a darn Gears 2 patch Epic!"

It's no wonder so many people stopped playing this POS online. Perfect example of yet another rushed Epic game that underwent zero testing before release.

oh come on GOW2 is hardly a POS, anyway the one thing that really needs fixing is the bug that causes you to lose all your war journal progress, all my sub achievements got reset and i had to start from scratch, this has affected alot of people and it sucks big time, otherwise gears is awesome.

Ever thought about that? Look how long it took for this to get out. Sometimes you just have to play something to death to find something wrong. Reviewers dont have that luxury.

After playing Gears 2 a few times online I wondered the same thing about the reviews. Online / multiplayer is a huge component of shooters. Why did they all rush to get their reviews out before any of them tried it online? Why don't you see any follow up opinions from the top sources in the media about just how broken this game is?

I played the original Gears online for 6 months straight. I ultimately ended up leaving the game because of glitches, bugs and their overall net code performance issues. Epic patched the original Gears several times but they only ended up fixing half of what was wrong with the game.

People have already moved back to Halo 3, COD4, towards COD:WAW and some even went back to the original Gears simply because they play better online. If Epic doesn't fix G2 properly and soon more and more people are going to look elsewhere.

Sell it now patch later mentality this generation is really p!ssing me off. This is a blockbuster title with a blockbuster payroll. Some bugs, glitches and performance issues I guess are to be expected but this game has bad net code, poor matching making with weak options and some really bad bugs and glitches. Some that have even made it over from Gears 1.

Epic releasing a map pack for cash just show how ignorant devs and publishers are. I wish they would have made it free because it would've sparked interest for people to go back to it online. They have to be a little concerned that they are not the most played game on XBL. At least I would hope they are.

For now I am holding on to my copy (I still have the original as well) but if it isn't fixed soon I might end up trading it in and I never thought I would ever say that when waiting for this title to be released.

BTW why did they have to go away from their original online system? I HATE matchmaking with voting for mods and maps. I want to play what I want to play and the maps to cycle one after the other.

Software Lover...there is no reason why this game should receive this many high scores if the multiplayer has bugs and glitches. Every game has it's moments but this...this is crazy.

Im alot happier with the flaws in Gears Of War 1 than 2, as 1 is stil playable
but 2... is just too frustrating to sit down and play..
if you have patience you will like the game, if you dont, then you wont like it.

I'm glad to see the "release now, patch later" mantra is alive & well. Come on people, we pay $60 for a brand new game, with bugs? Why aren't more people upset? Seems more and more the wise thing to do is wait a month or two after release just to make sure the big bugs are addressed. Developers need to stop using the ease of the Internet as a crutch for getting good games in our hands. They are under tight deadlines and someone high up says "who cares if there are bugs, we'll just release a patch online". Uggg

The good thing of not being able to patch was, that the QA actually worked back then. Games usually had almost no issues, because they knew, if something would go wrong out in the "field" they were certainly be screwed. Not so any more these days. QA gets scaled back and quality is lower in general.

Gears of Brown 2 & Left 4 Bargain seem to have a lot of issues. I guess they'll need to push out more patches for the patchbox360.

its all this generation has been about - releasing games that need to be patched later. last gen they didn't have that luxury cus altho the xbox had a hdd the ps2 didnt (well u could at 1 point in america but it wasnt needed) so multi-plat games needed to be of a top quality since they could only have minor fixes due to storage limitations. releasing patches is gd if it means fixing little things here and then due to user feeback but it seems every other game is released with big problems that don't get patched till months after release. its not just gow2 its gaming in general atm. just hope they fix these problems in gow soon as well as other games currently out there/ coming soon. i can c myself now getting excited for kz2 and it not working properly at launch

Is a joke, we know it, they know it, yet we continue to fall for bad "console war" stories and support them with their crap reviews that do nothing but pander to the game devs. We place them up on a pedastal almost and they are making money and getting free consoles and games hand over fist. They are so jaded to what it actually means to be "a gamer" out in the real world anymore.. Most "gaming journalists" live in a dream like state (even if they don't realize it) where they hardly honestly value the product they are playing/reviewing. They are simply towing the line, keeping their jobs, and enjoying every perk. Gamers be damned. The ones that know how crap they are are in the minority. It would be like trying to start an uprising against McDonalds food, hoping they would put out better product, mentioning to everyone you know, "Hey... Did you know this food is crap??" Move along now, nothing to see. Just keep reading those reviews and making fun of "non-legit blogs", drink your Super Game Hero sodas, and put up with crap quality, gamers. You deserve nothing less.

Gears of War 1 had glitches yes but none of them were game breaking like most of the glitches in Gears 2. Gears to is nigh UNPLAYABLE online unless you play nothing but horde. Also lets not forget that Epic patched Gears 1 somewhat quickly after it's release to fix alot of the major problems like how far away you could stick someone. However they have not fixed ANYTHING for Gears 2 and not only that they haven't really even acknowledged that there is a problem. Gears 1 quickly became number 1 on XBL upon it's release and Gears 2 should have done the same but it hasn't. I think it's ranked number 4 right now but I'm not 100% about that so feel free to correct me on that. The point is that it isn't even in the top 3 which is a massive disappointment for a game this high profile.

F-ing games gets 9's and 10's from stupid ms lovers and even nominted for game of the year but yet the reviewers don't point this out on the review they point to other games about bugs and glitches and give other games low scores but they don't downgrade this one when the f-ing MP is broken F**k reviews they know nothing but to ass-kiss. I'm glad for resistance 2 it works everytime, I was hook on gears1 on pc for like 6 months when it came out but now i realize that gears1 MP is broken also now i try and go back and i wont last 15 minutes before quiting cuz it lags and so unfair when host gets special powers and I feel like a noob when i have put many hours in to it it's so frustrating boy-cot this beach ass game

me and 4 of my friends played gears 1 online for so many hours that it hurted. we rushed to the shop to get gears 2 and guess what... stopped playing after 1 week. we wanted to love the game but it's impossible. we saw ppl glitching and going to closed doors, we saw ppl using shotguns while carrying boom shield.. and the worst of all beatdowns through the wall.

even if they fix gears 2, they alrady lots many players. they aren't gonna get them back
