I loved how fluid the Batman Arkham games combat was but this looks like a step back in places

I agree. Combat looks a bit heavy and stiff.

Heavy and stiff while also looking floaty and janky. It's a weird visual that seems much less polished than the first demo videos.

Nightwing weirdly can spin 15' between enemies. Red Hood has magic jumping that just doesn't make sense in this universe, even considering characters like Ivy and Mr. Freeze. The enemies after the poorly animated van gets knocked over look lit differently than the environment they're in.

How does a game get its last-gen version canceled while looking worse in both graphics and tone than it did over a year ago?

I don't think this is representative of the final game. The combat from Batgirl/Robin demo from 2 years ago looked way more fluid than this. Hell, even the visuals from that Batgirl/Robin demo looked better than this.

It seems like today's demo, for whatever odd reason, was from the last-gen build.

Lol, that XP removal was referenced in the demo as "you can customize your UI. This is how l like mine!"... then he doesn't explain anything that you can actually customize for the UI.

This almost feels like an unintentional joke. Here's another - you don't see the button icons because the demo's actually based on the Xbox 360 build.

That tends to happen when you try to make a game co-op unfortunately. If this was single player only I think it would look far more promising.

And it’s 69.99$. I’ll still probably get it at some point but slightly disappointed, It’s also 80$ for basically some skins and boosts…

Kind of has to be considering two people playing at once. Perhaps it's better when you're solo? The solo Redhood stuff looked okay, for example, if not purposefully handled to show off things in a slower manner than more fluid movement when you're playing to finish it fast and not let you get hit by a bomb or the like.

nightwing's glider looks like some form of nanotech as it can just appear and disappear on a whim. Same with that fastbat.
and while this game says for PS5/Series/PC... it certainly looks like its still PS4/XBO level (like Arkham Knight)

It’s always good when a game is current gen only. However, this late in development it’s not going to make a big difference in gameplay. Yeah resolution, frame-rate, and loading times will see a boost but key gameplay isn’t going to take advantage of the hardware this late in the games development.

Yeah, I read that on Instagram this morning. I can’t say I’m personally so much more interested in the game now, but I hope the extra time to focus on PS5/XSX will bring about an overall better/more polished game on day 1!

Doesn’t the game release this year? I wonder (I mean, I’m no dev) but I wouldn’t assume they’ll be able to change much at this late in the development of the game.

You realize that means nothing right? This game was built for last gen from the get go and dropping them now isn't going to change much. They likely were just having optimization issues on them and instead of delaying the game again they just decided to drop them. This is why the game looks very unimpressive for a PS5/Series only game.

Yeah I realize it's too late for major changes, but I do expect it means they won't end up cutting a lot of things in the last stretch just to get it to average 26 fps on the base PS4/Xone. I see it as being somewhat similar to Dying Light last gen, which was initially developed on 360 and PS3, but they dropped those versions so the game wouldn't be compromised.

Not a fan of the Red Hood character (shooting looks like a better option than hand-to-hand combat, especially because you have infinite ammo) and his magical jumping looks so out of place. Also, why does Red Hood uses non-lethal bullets, but Nightwing just drops people off the roof? Batman wouldn't approve that.

Combat looks slow, i feel like animations are too long for what they're trying to accomplish. Also, don't like those cheesy one-liners. Maybe i got used to Arkham games, but i wish camera would be farther away during combat.

Not a fan of rarity for items and upgrade materials as well, reminds me of Marvel Avengers. And - hope i'm wrong - looks like it was designed with microtransactions in mind.

Feel like new traversal mechanics would affect the exploration negatively - why should i be on my foot, if i can just fly to my destination? I dunno, but in Arkham games, when you're getting to your destination, you can always find something interesting, either a Riddler challenge or some gang members doing something shady. Now it's just flying or bunny-hopping.

Story looks interesting.

I would like to see more. But so far looks ok-ish?

I’m so glad they killed the ps4 and Xbox versions. I like what I see as all characters look and seem like they feel different then playing as Batman.

Red Hood looks like a tank which is understandable. Someone had to be the tank of the group in giving variable gameplay styles. He surely would be the most played if he was as mobile as Batman/Nightwing.

I'm not impressed. Enemy placement is so far apart which is fine in four person co-op but crap for single player which is what I'll be doing. Not even sure if this is worth a buy. Also the huge leap from one attack to another enemy that goes across the screen is just not really believable and shows it's really meant to be played in co op. I'll probably skip it if I'm being honest. And this is coming from someone who read the comics as a kid

after all this time, what gives? this looks very rough and outdated. and WTH is that Nightwing walking animation/posture there? that animation is worse than ME Andromeda! but the over-buffed character models are really bad IMO.
