Ill still try it but i feel itll be to much hack n slash for my jrpg taste.

RpgSama754d ago

Maybe they will have a more tactical version of their battle system and I am still hoping for additional party members, find it amazing how little we know about this game.

CDbiggen754d ago

It's great, sounds like they've just been getting on with making it. Unlike FFXV which had loads of trailers, the content of which differed so much from the finished product.

GoodGuy09754d ago

Yea, xv and viiR left a bad taste in my mouth. I don't get the disagrees, I guess ppl love mindless no strat action in ff games now lol.

goldwyncq754d ago

VII Remake's battle system required way more strategy than the original and that's coming from someone who loved VII

pietro1212754d ago

There’s more depth to to the the FFVII Remake’s battle system over the original. This is coming from someone who’s beating the original multiple times

CrimsonWing69753d ago

I’m sorry, how was no strategy applied to FF7: Remake? Did you play it on easy mode? I’ll tell you what, why don’t you fight Weiss and tell me your no-strategy plan and we can compare notes.

shinoff2183753d ago

Im not sure why you got all those either. Some of us old school gamers grew up with ff. Yea were kinda sad they flip the whole script and made it an action adventure game

If you’re suggesting FF16 will be a shallow action game then you haven’t played the battle designer other games: DMC5 and Dragon’s Dogma. Dude knows a thing or two about having a flesh out combat system. Sure I would of like to see a new ATB system or the return of the ATD system, but I’m happy with how 16 is shaping up. I just don’t want to see a CTB based again. The franchise has always been about change rather it’s good or bad.

pietro1212753d ago (Edited 753d ago )

unself

Because turn based RPGs are still good in 2022. Just look at Persona 5, MegaTen 5, Bravely Default 2 I can go. I just like to see FF experiment because that’s what’s the franchise is known for. I for to mention the Trails series which shits on most RPGs and those are turn based

chronoforce753d ago (Edited 753d ago )

Sure they are still good but nobody is making turn based RPG's on a mainline FF budget. A turn based game is not going to reach as many people today as it did before. Either way they are still going to experiment with the battle system of any one FF title, it just won't be turned based.

There is also pressure from other developers as what they make can also shift the market. Games like The Elder scrolls, Dragon Age, The Witcher, Mass Effect, Fallout etc have leveraged a huge market for action role playing games that still have substantial non combat related role playing systems. Dialogue tree's where choices influence the game/narrative, morality / faction systems or stats that affect gameplay outside of combat.

They can't ignore the trend of games like the Witcher 3, Cyberpunk and Skyrim outselling FF and being played for years. If they want to be able to keep investing more resources into the mainline franchise they are going to have find a way to evolve the game in a way that feels good for FF.

gamer7804753d ago

Yah and not into the character designs, world, and themes. Going to pass on it or until it’s in the bargain bin.

pietro1212753d ago

We know nothing about the world. The themes are interesting reminded me of the older FFs and Former Business Division 4 games I.e Vagrant Story, Final Fantasy XII and Tactics

gamer7804753d ago

Pietro you are right on, just with A more mature rating. Those games you listed were among my least liked such as ffxii and tactics.

shinoff2183753d ago

The people defending ff7r strategy part. I played it on normal and only really had to really think about the battle a few times throughout the whole game. I think your playing it up a but.

pietro1212753d ago

It wasn’t hard, but it was definitely more challenging than most of FFVII (Not that VII was a difficult game in the first place)

pietro1212753d ago

shinoff2183

It’s not an action adventure. We don’t know a thing about characters and stat progression (the most important aspect of a rpg). Do you call other Action RPGs, Action Adventure games too? If so it’s kind of ignorant and flat out wrong.

I have no idea why I still get weak in knees for Final Fantasy after so many years but every release gets me really hyped. Can’t wait.

TakeTori753d ago

Yoshi P is directing the game. I think we're safe.

Soy753d ago

I hope so. I just hate the idea of them doing to FF what they did to other recent games.

pietro1212753d ago

Producing. The guy who directed Last Remnant is the director

Sony Says The PS5 Is Its “Most Profitable Generation To-Date"

During Sony’s recent business segment meeting and investor presentation regarding its game and network services, the PlayStation company revealed that PlayStation 5 is the company’s “most profitable generation to-date.”

It’s the top slide of the presentation, showing that in its first four years, the PS5 generation has already hit $106 billion in sales, having almost caught up to the PS4’s total $107 billion generated.

Operating income for the PS5 generation has also already surpassed that of the PS4, having now reached $10 billion.

ApocalypseShadow1h ago(Edited 1h ago)

I wouldn't doubt it. They released a high quality system. A lot of high quality games from themselves and their support of 3rd party developers and indies. They released many high quality remakes and remasters. They released a high quality GaaS game going against the naysayers thinking Sony would abandon single player games. And they most likely are profiting a lot more than PS1, PS2 PS4 and the loss leading PS3 that drained all their profits.

Now, I'll wait to see what's cooking tomorrow. But can you use some of those profits to better support your high quality VR headset? Because, by supporting it, you can sell more games and more systems and make more profits?

jznrpg1h ago(Edited 1h ago)

I want RPGs for PSVR2! Good ones of course

This is bad for them as we know they were already in marvel hell with there schedule but now they are never getting out with these sales.

Some poor sob over there is like hey can we do infamous remaster collection? then gets yelled at thrown to a desk made to work on spiderman 3 or some shit for the the next 3 years.

This also gave sweet baby inc more support they helped with the sotry and she hulk aka marry jane so why not make the next spiderman game with gwen but her powers only work after she attends lgbqt rallies fear the power of queer right's bad guys.

https://www.youtube.com/wat...

Just had a thought make a new super hero with the power of rainbows that come out of the wrist jerk of men to supercharge the attack.

Abnor_Mal54m ago

Just making up bullsht off the top of yer head huh?

andy8546m ago(Edited 44m ago)

"These sales" like it's a tiny number? It's sold what Spiderman 1 did on the PS4 in the same timeframe and that was labelled a huge success and there was 100 million PS4s out there at that time...compared to 50m PS5. Selling the same amount is nothing short of amazing. What a strange post

just_looken37m ago(Edited 37m ago)

Wow sound the trumpit defend them asap right?

I know 2023 was along time ago but there was a ransomware attack remember?
https://www.polygon.com/240...

So yeah they are marvel game maker slaves

"these sales" means these sales there could have been a slight tiny glimmer of hope they might make something else instead of another spiderman game with the same combat same map same dei story but nope they are now defiantly going to make another one.

and yes sweetbabyinc helped with the story/characters
https://sweetbabyinc.com/

But i get it everyone loves the nerfed bitch version of parker sense very few played/watched anything before the Spectacular days were over.

With a game called Spider-Man and made by Insomniac………..is anyone really surprised??? Congrats to them on their continued excellence in game crafting.

1Victor1h ago

Congrats to insomniac on another hit showing proof that it was a right move to be acquired by Sony unlike others developers getting closed or afraid of going on the chopping block.

Marvellepus1h ago

Nobody tell him Sony just closed studios and laid off insomniac staff 💀

Marvellepus3h ago

And still not profitable. Yikes.

Good deal for Marvel though. 50% cut of everything, zero work.

Abnor_Mal46m ago

Didn’t Sony just make it known that this is the most profitable generation of the PlayStation platform with PS5 making $106 billion dollars in sales?

Marvellepus45m ago

And that means Spider-Man was profitable?
