Elden Ring Boss is now even more difficult

One of Elden Ring's most difficult bosses has now been made even trickier. It's thanks to a bug in the latest update.

Malenia was definitely one of the most annoying bosses in Eldensoulsbourne history, but I had more trouble with Malekith. Just thinking about his supernatural tracking skills and uneven hit damage makes my blood boil.

lucian229751d ago

Malenia was the toughest imo, but also one of the most fun aside from sister friede or maria of cainhurst

Vits751d ago

My issue with Malekith was not even the boss itself it was that god-awful arena. The camera just couldn't keep track correctly of his movement around thanks to the pillars. Malenia I found very annoying to deal with as well, that Waterfowl Dance of hers reminded me more of Ninja Blade than any other title. Being basically a quick-time event.

But I still had fun with both of them. The Elden Beast though? What a boring fight, the arena is too big, it moves a lot and its immunity and huge health pool make it a chore. It is at least super easy and if you use Lord's Divine Fortification it can barely damage you as well.

Silly gameAr751d ago

Yeah, that's true too. He was super quick, and when you thought you were safe behind a column, and maybe catch your breath for a sec, his attacks would just go right through them and mess you up.

But when I finally learned his move set, and figured out how to get around his attacks, I finally got his ass. I could read Malenia's moves a little easier, and my blood flame build luckily did pretty good against her, but she still beat my ass like a punching bag quite a bit before I got her.

I had fun with both of them too, and love the game, but there were times when it felt super cheap just for the sake of difficulty.

Vanfernal751d ago

Eldensoulsborne?? I personally go with Soulsbornekiring. XD

SDuck751d ago

This is getting ridiculous. Why not "bonfire genre"?

DarXyde751d ago

I'll settle this...

Miyazaki game!

Black-Helghast751d ago

soulsbornering is the best name. first was demons/dark souls, then bloodborne and now elden ring.

I know sekiro is an amazing game but it's like a cousin to soulsbornering.

Gianoni33751d ago

Really good boss. I like her.

Hikoran751d ago

If you could choose a boss to nerf, what would it be? I'd say Malekith..

Flawlessmic751d ago

Yea malekith was one i really struggled on, his second form would rip me to shreds!!

Its nice now though being able to help other players get past all the bosses i used to struggle with.

They stand no match for my mage now, never knew i would turn on elden literraly just to help other people now.

Crows90751d ago

I'd say make some more difficult. Some are so extremely easy.

HeliosHex751d ago

Elden ring is the easiest souls game in the whole franchise. It's good the bosses need to be harder anyway.

Flawlessmic751d ago

Only if you overlevel, i mainlined the main story outside of the caves i came across and some of the side quests so for me i was probably underleveled or just at the perfect level and this game was not easy.

Obviously if u overleveled it will be easy.

Crows90751d ago

About 3-5 hits without heals is the sweat spot for me. 2 hits from the strongest attack.

Anything below that usually means you're under leveled.

Most people won't be over leveled for the endgame bosses. You could overlevel in other souls games too. This game removes that grind simply because there's so much content there isn't a need to repeat anything.

Flawlessmic751d ago

I went with a mage build so that made my charachter a bit of a glass tank, so i was lucky to survive 3 hits.

Wasnt until the end game where i really invested in vig as i was happy with everything else.

But yea the game provided a great challenge throughout, just defeated the last main boss that ive been stuck on which was dragon lord placidux, that every major boss done and dusted 🤙

Silly gameAr751d ago

If you're overleveled, that also takes a lot of the fun and challenge out of the game.

Vanfernal750d ago

I've beaten every Soulsborne game + dlc, including Sekiro. I don't farm, I just play the game at its natural progression. I have to agree, Elden Ring is by far the easiest Soulsborne game.

Elden Ring Killed Gaming For Me & It's About To Do It Again

Saad from eXputer: "Utilizing its myriad strengths and masterful design, Elden Ring ruined gaming for me in a way I'll always be thankful for."

GhostScholar7d ago

It sounds like you’re just an eldenring fan and not so much a fan of games by and large. Which theres nothing wrong with.

RoadRacer6d ago

The author's profile appears to state otherwise. I believe they just got a massive shock with Elden Ring, something that stuck around. To each their own I guess

Crows906d ago

Elden ring ruined from software for me....maybe.

I hope their next game isn't open world too...

ravens526d ago

I have yet to beat Elden Ring. Not cause it's too hard , I've beaten Sekiro, Bloodborne, Demon Souls etc. Also I could just make my character op but I prefer to play under leveled. It's too big. I beat Radaghan or the moon lady last then got lost, lost for years lol. I'm going to beat it tho. Haven't played it in a while

Crows906d ago

I platinumed the game but hated the open world aspect...started great but then after a bit you notice all the repeated dungeons and bosses...it got massively tedious and much preferred late game areas in a typical souls game than the open world repetition.

GhostScholar6d ago

The ole “I’m so good at hard games I had to play under leveled to get challenged and if I worked that hard in real life I wouldn’t be working at Walmart”

ravens525d ago

? Don't work at Walmart or any type of retail...lol. But w.e. Makes you feel better about ya sad life 🤷🏽 lol. You probably just suck at games lmao.

I loved it but yeah it is just overwhelmingly massive and confusing, I don’t think I’ll ever finish it.

Bonfire interview with Miyazaki Hidetaka: "Shadow of the Golden Tree" is the only DLC"

The large-scale DLC "Shadow of the Golden Tree" for "Elden's Circle" will be released on June 21. This is the only additional content for "Elden's Circle" since its release two years ago, and according to public information, its size will also be the largest DLC since the founding of Fromsoftware.

The 7 Best Souls-Like Games - Mastering the Challenge

The Souls-like genre remains popular, along with FromSoftware's classics there are many contenders. But which are the best Souls-like games?

toxic-inferno42d ago

Hmm... In my opinion, the 7 best are the 6 made by FromSoftware (DeS, DS1, DS2, DS3, BB and ER), then Lies of P. But each to their own.

kevco3342d ago

Still DS1? You don't feel it's been surpassed yet?

Demon's Souls has the remake of course, but DS1 has surely been outdated?

Smellsforfree41d ago

I think that the DS1 remake is better looking than DS2. The interior lighting matched with the low resolution textures in DS2 is very garish, IMO.

Besides graphics, what do you mean by DS1 being "outdated"? I'm someone who played through Elden Ring and just recently played through the DS series, and as far as gameplay went, there were all very similar.

Cacabunga41d ago

I haven’t played many but Bloodborne and NIOH1 are on top of my list.. had a blast with these 2

toxic-inferno41d ago

For world design and interconnectedness (that's a word, right?) DS1 is yet to be beaten.

anast9d ago

All great games beside DS2.

toxic-inferno9d ago

I would agree, but there are some things in DS2 that are great and incredibly memorable. It tries to do things differently, and there are some amazingly cinematic moments.

Of course, there's also poor level design (particularly the interconnectivity of the world), questionable combat choices and some of the worst boss runs since the early days of video games...

anast9d ago

True. I can't disagree the game has some moments.
