God of War Ragnarok update shared by Cory Barlog

God of War director Cory Barlog says that something cool is coming.

Actually they just recently stated that it is in fact still on track for 2022. The tone doesn't seem to indicate a delay either. Seems like they are getting ready to share something big within the next 2 or 3 months.

They should at very least give us a release date for Ragnarok in celebration.

That's true, though some want everyone to believe that Sony dropped the ball with their games, even though they've been the most consistent with games this year.

Even if they're doing well, make it seem like they're doing bad. That's a petty tactic a lot of people in the media and the community follow.

in case you missed, when Ragnarok was annnounced, Santa Monica gave us a release window (2021). If this game gets delayed (again) to 2023, it will be a 2 year delay.

Have you see the documentary about GoW (2018)? The demo that was shown at e3 was the only thing they had done so far... and they finished the product in less than 2 years from that point. So, 4 years after the release of GoW (2018) i'm pretty sure they've a lot of things done and are polishing and putting the game together. Besides, this games was probably in pre-production when they were finishing the last one.

...not only that but because of all the groundwork being laid by the 2018 release, Barlog said the sequel wouldn't take as long. it should still come out this year.

Multiple people from the studio along with Jason from Bloomberg have said the game is coming this year. Even today they had people at the studio saying that. You do realize God of War 2018 didn't have a date or much marketing until 3 months prior to launch right? Plenty of time to ramp things up in June and launch in the fall.
