Seems like they've made Radahn a bit too easy if they're pushing this fix out on it's own so quickly. I haven't fought him since the nerf, so I don't know. I was fine with the original difficulty to be honest. Such an epic fight needs to be a proper challenge.

The one thing I've noticed, that needs to be fixed asap, is the performance in Ordina Liturgical Town. I'm pretty sure it only happens when using a certain torch, because the first time I've been there I didn't notice any major issues. But going through it, yesterday was by far the worst performing part of the game for me.

I'm also curious if the passive status effects on weapons work as intended. It seems odd to me that bleed and poison scale, but other status effects don't seem to scale with anything. At least that's according to my own limited testing so far.

yeah i solo'd Rahdaan with out online help and before the nerf and with using a horse; i only died like 5 times, i don't get why people think he was so difficult. Especially to nerf him so much. Sigh

ChubbyBlade776d ago

He really wasn’t very difficult. He’s very hard for people trying to solo him but the fight is set up as a summon battle. You’re supposed to call in AI summons for the “festival”. Soloing him was very tough but doable but that’s not how the fight was designed which was where the difficulty came from.

IanTH775d ago

I agree that he seemed easy. I'm interested in trying him again in a new playthrough, since I'm going to do no summons the next time through. Radahn went down the first time I fought him, and I just felt like it was mainly due to how much of his attention I could get to be on other people. I also feel like I had my dodge game on point, and that also helped a ton (note - this is not a common occurrence lol).

I think my second run is going to involve exponentially more pain than I've accrued so far in this one lol.

SDuck775d ago

Just fought him yesterday and I agree he was a bit too easy. Defeated him on my 2nd try (because I didn't know I could summon allies in my 1st try) and this is my first FS game and I suck. For the spectacle that left my jaw dropped, this boss should've been harder for sure.

Instead of focusing on balances, focus on performance especially the pc version lol. I'm not playing the game again until they fix the stutters and fps drops. Balance seems fine as it is and be least priority.

spirited776d ago

They won't fix it. If u look at their history every game has performance issues and they neglect it.

SyntheticForm776d ago

Same engine as Bloodborne; basically a last-gen game.

There are downsides, but the upside is that they're really familiar with this engine and have mastered it.

saint_seya776d ago

Im only like 10hrs in the game, just cuz i find stupid having to use a mod (that makes me play offline) because the enemies are invisible (and my horse too) without it. And the game runs fine with the mod, so i can tell isnt my computer (there is a lot of people having same issue).

AKS776d ago

Most of my technical issues are stuttering and freezing. I have a 2080 Super and a friend has a 3080, and we both had problems running it. It also seems like the freezing happens way more often if you Alt-Tab, which is pretty obnoxious given you often want to look up bits of info regarding complex questlines and whatnot. It still runs pretty poorly currently, and the widescreen situation is an additional source of irritation. It obviously can run in widescreen because with a mod it does that, but you can get banned if you use it online, a significant aspect of the experience. I think a team like Insominac would have most of this fixed and dramatically improved within a day or two. FROM could really use some improvements on the technical front. Creatively they are superb, among the best, but the PC version wasn't ready for release and is still in a rough state.

Stanjara776d ago

I can't wait for someone to remaster this game.

Snakeeater25776d ago

They should fix the multiplayer I can let find the signs of my friends and am lvl 140

Obelisk92776d ago (Edited 776d ago )

Did you try using a password? Or maybe you just can't summon anyone anymore because you already beat the boss of the area.

Obelisk92775d ago

Weird, I had no issues with the multiplayer so far.

spirited776d ago

Despite a blockbuster hit which surpassed their own sale expectations, it is highly likely and saddening that performance issues will never be addressed.

VersusDMC776d ago

Been enjoying the PS4 version on PS5. 60 fps is a must for me. Was hoping the PS5 would have been fixed by now and i could switch over...100 hours later still nothing.

tombfan776d ago

I'm starting to think it's also part of their gameplay difficulty method hahaha if you can pass the frustrating performance issues while playing, then you're truly a from fan.

Elden Ring Killed Gaming For Me & It's About To Do It Again

Saad from eXputer: "Utilizing its myriad strengths and masterful design, Elden Ring ruined gaming for me in a way I'll always be thankful for."

GhostScholar13d ago

It sounds like you’re just an eldenring fan and not so much a fan of games by and large. Which theres nothing wrong with.

RoadRacer12d ago

The author's profile appears to state otherwise. I believe they just got a massive shock with Elden Ring, something that stuck around. To each their own I guess

Crows9012d ago

Elden ring ruined from software for me....maybe.

I hope their next game isn't open world too...

ravens5212d ago

I have yet to beat Elden Ring. Not cause it's too hard , I've beaten Sekiro, Bloodborne, Demon Souls etc. Also I could just make my character op but I prefer to play under leveled. It's too big. I beat Radaghan or the moon lady last then got lost, lost for years lol. I'm going to beat it tho. Haven't played it in a while

Crows9012d ago

I platinumed the game but hated the open world aspect...started great but then after a bit you notice all the repeated dungeons and bosses...it got massively tedious and much preferred late game areas in a typical souls game than the open world repetition.

GhostScholar12d ago

The ole “I’m so good at hard games I had to play under leveled to get challenged and if I worked that hard in real life I wouldn’t be working at Walmart”

ravens5211d ago

? Don't work at Walmart or any type of retail...lol. But w.e. Makes you feel better about ya sad life 🤷🏽 lol. You probably just suck at games lmao.

I loved it but yeah it is just overwhelmingly massive and confusing, I don’t think I’ll ever finish it.

The 7 Best Souls-Like Games - Mastering the Challenge

The Souls-like genre remains popular, along with FromSoftware's classics there are many contenders. But which are the best Souls-like games?

toxic-inferno48d ago

Hmm... In my opinion, the 7 best are the 6 made by FromSoftware (DeS, DS1, DS2, DS3, BB and ER), then Lies of P. But each to their own.

kevco3348d ago

Still DS1? You don't feel it's been surpassed yet?

Demon's Souls has the remake of course, but DS1 has surely been outdated?

Smellsforfree48d ago

I think that the DS1 remake is better looking than DS2. The interior lighting matched with the low resolution textures in DS2 is very garish, IMO.

Besides graphics, what do you mean by DS1 being "outdated"? I'm someone who played through Elden Ring and just recently played through the DS series, and as far as gameplay went, there were all very similar.

Cacabunga48d ago

I haven’t played many but Bloodborne and NIOH1 are on top of my list.. had a blast with these 2

toxic-inferno48d ago

For world design and interconnectedness (that's a word, right?) DS1 is yet to be beaten.

anast16d ago

All great games beside DS2.

toxic-inferno16d ago

I would agree, but there are some things in DS2 that are great and incredibly memorable. It tries to do things differently, and there are some amazingly cinematic moments.

Of course, there's also poor level design (particularly the interconnectivity of the world), questionable combat choices and some of the worst boss runs since the early days of video games...

anast16d ago

True. I can't disagree the game has some moments.
