Grand Theft Auto 5: how do PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X compare?

This test shows both consoles loading from the menu screen. The other video show low times from the dashboard. This is why it took up to a minute on the Xbox while only about half of that on the ps5. The PS5 Skip's past some of the intro screens. That's all you're seeing here.

So if the PS5 didn't skip past some of the intro screens then would it take the same amount of time to load as Xbox or would they be closer ?

I would assume that they would be closer. But what I am trying to say is that the acutal load times either way are essentially the same. The extra loading on Xbox comes from the intro screens not from actual loading.

It's best if we all agree both consoles are roughly the same tbh. Nothing in it but a few hair widths. Nothing to complain about. I'm just happy I have ps5 for the controller 😎👌

Playing 30 ruined last gen. If only the CPU hadn't been the bottleneck and we had all games running at 1080p 60fps. Last gen wud have been awsome.

Honestly want to jump back in to this game but don’t know on which console to do it. Performance seems even across both plats depending on scenario…. Xbox is more convenient for me to play on but damn I don’t play online so PS5 with that $10 price might do it.

The difference is minimal the video shows very minor differences you might wait an extra 3 seconds to start the game on ps5 while both Xbox and ps5 both suffer frame rate drops at various places sometimes for no understandable reason like the Xbox dripping to low 50s in the mission where Lamar and Franklin repo the bike where as PS drops harder on the Mr Phillips mission.

There's a weird thing with Xbox missing shadows under cars but it's barely noticeable.

All in all I'd got for PS since it's $10 there's no real difference also tbh I'm not a fan of the duelsense implementation in this case.

Every negative here is not a result of weaker hardware but poor programming of a game that was made in 2013 two console gens ago.

regardless of the minimal tech differences between the two systems, if you have both platforms and are deciding between I would wholly recommend the PS5 version. The dual sense is some of the best 3rd party integration I've seen~ it's used in everything, in subtle ways. You can feel the rumble of an engine that's nearby, or the wheel of the car hitting the shoulder to alert you like IRL, or feel the gust of air if you're running across the street and have a near miss with a fast moving vehicle. It's all so well done, and absolutely worth paying for. It's the best version of the game (as someone that's played this multiple times since first release.) The controller is literally always providing some additional contextual immersion, and it's awesome :)

Really wish I could enjoy this. My friends and I still play from time to time. But there’s no point in even trying if I can’t play with them since they can’t get a PS5 yet.
