Monark PS5 Review: A Competent But Dreary JRPG - Total Gaming Addicts

The game as a whole has many interesting features that could have made playing Monark very good. If you don’t mind the grind and the drab aesthetic, there is still a really good game beneath the surface here. It’s interesting, different and unique and explores themes other games avoid. With some more polish and time, this could have been excellent.

I was really stoked for this being a massive Megaten fan, but when I saw the gameplay reveal trailer I wasn’t impressed… the reviews aren’t helping, either.

Yea, I still want to check it out, but it sucks they. I don’t know why they just couldn’t match the Megaten formula and make their own game similar to what Igarashi did with Bloodstained to Castlevania. Such a shame.
