New Terminator Salvation Trailer Debuts At Spike VGAs

1UP writes:

"It's almost Christmas, so that must mean that it's time to start hyping up next year's summer blockbusters. And where there are summer blockbusters, there are licensed summer blockbuster games.

This new Terminator Salvation trailer was captured from the Spike TV Video Game Awards show, and it depicts pretty much everything you would expect from a Terminator game. Namely shooting, explosions, and the excellent remix of the Terminator theme that debuted with the film's teaser trailer.

So have a look at the video above, then let us know what you think in the comments. If nothing else, the music makes it seem pretty darn good!"

They copied Resistance and Gears of War at the same time lol

they so did copy resistance AND gears at the same time aye haha not a bad thing though!

I was about to say the same...

Oh, that's not a bad thing. If they only get 100% of each, and not just 50 to make it a 100%.

But intriguing story. I always wanted some piece of that part of Terminator.

Doesn't look too bad. Even if it is a copy of Gears 2 with a resistance like setting (which if you think about it, the setting for the future was invented in 1984, well before Resistance was even though of, think that one over), it will probably be great. They seem to have GRIN developing it, and I've enjoyed their games. The PC versions of GRAW were fantastic for the most part (GRAW2 being quite a bit better). I'll give this a chance since they have a competent studio behind it. They're also doing the new Bionic Commando sequel, I wonder how much tech is being shared there. Bionic Commando looked great, and so does this.

(crosses fingers hoping for not yet another bad movie to game, err, game)

Not because it doesn't look good...but because movie tie in games have pretty much all sucked!

i always love Terminator 3 Redemption for the in-game battle damage you receive when killing off other terminators. And Terminator Dawn of Fate was a 6/10 but was enjoyable enough to rent at Blockbuster.

7 Times Movie Games Couldn't Use the Star's Likeness, So Here's Some Random

OX writes: "Imagine you're a game developer with a license to make a game based on a hit movie, but the movie's star hasn't given you permission to use their likeness. Do you cancel production and go work on a farm, dreaming about what could have been? No! You sub in some generic character model and hope nobody notices. Consider these times videogames did just that, with mixed results."
