Dying Light 2 Can Be Completed In About 20 Hours

Techland sets the record straight and confirms that Dying Light 2 won't take 500 hours to complete. Not unless you're trying to do everything there is to do in the game. Otherwise, most will finish it in 20 hours.

So they filled 480 hours of dumb collectibles ?

philm87865d ago

No. There's 60 hours of side missions. The rest is what you need to replay with choices/dialogue options, and also the collectables.

Speed runners will find a way to do it in 20 minutes, probably less... who cares man. When was the last time you considered a game bad because you played it a bunch?

Eidolon865d ago

I think a game can be dragged out too long and impact the overall experience, therefore coming off as "bad"

metalgod88865d ago

Now that, I totally do agree with.

Assassins Creed Valhalla was latest culprit for myself.

Animal Crossing. Once I took a step back from it I realised how much I truly hated it.

slowgamer865d ago

So from it takes 500 h to 100 percent the game to you get 500 h if you play it 7 times over and do everything.

This sounds like a big waste of everyone's time reading the news headlines. One minute it's covered as a huge game the next it's 20 hours. I hope the quality is there but I'm getting tired of news about the game. Just say the release date and shut up.

Army_of_Darkness865d ago

Next up, you will hear that this game will have 100 million zombies! 50 million during the day and the other 50 mill during the night! Amazing isn't it!?

Atom666864d ago

February 4th is the release date.

You don't expect news about it in the few weeks prior to release?

phoenixwing864d ago

The only news I want at most after a release date is early review previews followed by reviews

porkChop865d ago

I thought they had said that story and side quests was 70-80 hours? Now most will finish the game in 20? So is there 480 hours of padding?

shadowhaxor865d ago

Techland has quoted it takes up to 80 hours to do all the main and side quests. 500 hours comes in if you want to do everything. Complete map exploration, spoken to every NPC and exhausted the dialogue and found everything hidden in the game.

I sure as hell hope there isn't a trophy of achievement for this.

Ironically number 9 can save them at this point (releasing games on multiple platforms)

You could add the naming scheme for the consoles, it just confuses customers. I know they wanted to avoid traditional numbering bc it would always be lower than their competitor, but this whole 360 then One then Series thing is confusing af. Imagine a Soccer Mom trying to figure this stuff out. I still mistakenly call the Series X the One from time to time on accident.

RNTody3h ago

Don't forget about the Xbox One, Xbox One X and Xbox Series X! Good luck to Soccer moms around the world.

Phil Spencer is the worst that has happened to Xbox.
They built a respectable brand up to Xbox one. Then this guy took over and things became a joke

Really good video.

I remember the days with RRoD was big news on here, N4G.

Microsoft had it turbulence number of years.

Looking at the success of Sea of Thieves despite being 6 years old, time to release Halo, Forza horizon 4 & 5 on PS5. It'll help their revenue
