Dying Light 2 Can Be Completed In About 20 Hours

Techland sets the record straight and confirms that Dying Light 2 won't take 500 hours to complete. Not unless you're trying to do everything there is to do in the game. Otherwise, most will finish it in 20 hours.

No. There's 60 hours of side missions. The rest is what you need to replay with choices/dialogue options, and also the collectables.

This sounds like a big waste of everyone's time reading the news headlines. One minute it's covered as a huge game the next it's 20 hours. I hope the quality is there but I'm getting tired of news about the game. Just say the release date and shut up.

I thought they had said that story and side quests was 70-80 hours? Now most will finish the game in 20? So is there 480 hours of padding?

Techland has quoted it takes up to 80 hours to do all the main and side quests. 500 hours comes in if you want to do everything. Complete map exploration, spoken to every NPC and exhausted the dialogue and found everything hidden in the game.

I sure as hell hope there isn't a trophy of achievement for this.

Let's continue to attack a game from a company that had a good record for supporting their game after 7 years. If they say, 20 hours, you say the rest are all filler crap, if they say more then you say you don't have the time for it.

Let's hope all these companies close down, then everyone can enjoy free to play games and grind 20 hours just for a pair for bunny ears. /s

Techland was a pretty lackluster and dodgy company up until they actually hit it big with Dying Light, thus they heavily supported it after the fact because it meant guaranteed money for them.

Then you have the development hell that is the sequel. They really should not be seen as a dev that earns automatic credit.

I need to find out how they could claim it takes 500 hours to 100% the game. Freaking Witcher 3 didn’t take me 500 hours to 100% it and I thought that was the longest game I’ve ever played.

I played the SHIT out of Cyberpunk 2077, got the platinum. It took me around 75 hrs to finish the game, all side quests, all missions all done. Then it only took me another 9 hrs to mainline the story and clean up misc trophies. I bet Dying light 2 will be extremely similar in the amount of time to “finish off” checklist style, and complete 100% the game. There will be plenty of content for those that WANT it,

When i said this in the other article, i got downvotes. Well, as i said, when they start talking about "full completion = xx hours", it means that if you normally finish the game it's going to take much less. And this is a LOT less than 500hrs :/

Really!? Oh hell no! when I played the first one I had lot to do in fact I had over 76 hoursin which half was story mode only....this sucks. Now I'm not so sure I wana purchase this game at launche ...maybe if there is a $15 sale later on.

There's no way that the main game can be done in 20, and then there's literally hundreds of hours of nothing more than throw away content.

There might be a good amount of solid side content, but this narrative screams of a game with a whole bunch of nothing filler.

Tied with the development hell it went through, even the true diehard fans should tread lightly in their excitement.
