PSVR2 will be effing amazing, just to think 4k, HDR, and 90 to 120 fps in VR ,oled, thats going to be something awesome, no to mention the eye tracking feature , that for me that's the real main problem with current VR and main cause of motion sickness, but if Im thinking of what is going to be oh man is going to be revolutionary in gaming.

Look with your head instead of with your eyes if you want to avoid VR sickness.

I've thought for a long time, maybe 15 years, that VR is the future. We'll have to wait and see what happens with the tech but I don't think that Sony would be continuing to focus on it if they didn't agree.

I don't think it's going to be the future but as the technology advances I think it's going to be an amazing addition to gaming. Just like the flight sticks and racing wheels have contributed to their genres, VR will certainly help with immersion when it comes to certain games.

I agree. I think traditional gaming and VR will coexist just fine. Why not? And why do some people not want this??

VR+AR is the next step 10 year goal, with full Holograms being the future (which IMO is heading towards a dangerous economic upheaval for hundreds of millions, but that's another topic).

I doubt holograms is the future of gaming.

PSVR2 is ahead of the pack. It's got all of the latest specs, and features not on current VR headsets. Best of all its not held back by hardware limitations like the Quest 2. Sure there's highend PC VR headsets that just released or will release in the future, but the state of PC VR games are lacking to justify the ridiculous price. If there were more games like HL alyxx, maybe, but there hasn't been any hints of another PC VR game of that tier yet

VR will never replace traditional gaming but it has a place and is absolutely mind blowing. Sony showing their desire and commitment to it is fantastic news. With the hardware revealed, the only thing holding VR back is the games, the Half Life Alyx games are so few and far between and it needs more like that to secure it's future. Not much beats chilling on the sofa with a good game and a beer but you can't go wrong with strapping on a VR headset and being fully immersed in a game.

I dunno, man.

Why do you think it won't? When you break it down it's how you view the game. You don't need motion controls to play.

It's more like playing something on a flat screen vs playing something in virtual space. If you can make Resident Evil 4 in VR, I think you can make anything in VR even things in third person. The trick is figuring how to make the camera work in VR for third person games.

This thing will be a huge leap over what we're used to from VR. It's a game changer to bring such a high end headset out that pairs with such a powerful, popular console.
