Out of nowhere. Definitely interested when PSVR2 launches! Should be a great experience coming from Guerrilla Games!

So hyped for PSVR2!

This is going to be an amazing year, and today's announcements should open the floodgates for a ton of other PSVR2 game announcements. Maybe a State of Play soon to showcase some?

bouzebbal870d ago

Looks very detailed.. I hope move is supported. Such an amazing and incredibly precise device. They can eventually create a new update with haptics and a new navigation controller with the same.

HICK870d ago

@bouzebbal you're joking right? If not, can you please explain.

bouzebbal870d ago

Hick..
Joking about what?

Phoenix76870d ago (Edited 870d ago )

@bouzebbal
They said in the trailer that it is coming to "next gen VR" headsets. Which means it will need the new psvr2 controllers, which will most likely come with the new headset.

bouzebbal870d ago

I forgot the new VR came with new controllers.

fr0sty870d ago

yeah, the new controllers are supposed to be able to track your individual fingers, if the tech demo they showed off a while back is any indicator of what to expect.

The Move really didn't work as VR controllers lol

Bought 50+ psvr games and still have left it in the dust for Oculus. Tracking is just so much better. Really happy the psvr2 has internal tracking but I've already got hundreds of PC VR games so idk if I can justify switching platforms yet again for this. Damn temping though

Definitely hyped for PSVR2! Anyone else notice Firesprite listed in the teaser? Guess they're already helping make VR games.

TGGJustin870d ago

Hard to get excited for this when they are using the word "experience" instead of game. I'm worried this will be like a 1 hour long thing like Batman Arkham VR. I really hope Sony isn't making that mistake yet again

Babadook7870d ago (Edited 870d ago )

I sure hope not. And I don't think so.

PR speak should never be used as confirmation for anything other than that - PR speak.

Babadook7870d ago (Edited 870d ago )

@TheRealTedCruz

"Think" vs "confirm".

MadLad869d ago

@babadook

You can cherry pick specific words out of ours all you want.
My point still stands; you should never let baseless PR speak help mold your opinion.

Babadook7869d ago (Edited 869d ago )

So the words of the people making the game are baseless as opposed to some made up assertion to the contrary? Lol. Ok then. And I didn't cherry pick, you misconstrued my point and I pointed it out.

Jimbo and the Dev both mentioned gameplay a bunch of times. Experience and gameplay kind of go hand-in-hand in this industry.

You must have a problem memorizing what's being said..

Seeing the scope and scale of the creatures and environments in VR is going to be awesome.

I'm excited that there's a Horizon VR game, but I'm a little bummed that it isn't Horizon:FW that has VR support instead. I kinda hoped they'd be trying to build VR support into more of the core games.

HOWEVER, don't get me wrong. I'm well aware that most of the best experiences in VR are one's built from the ground up with VR in mind. But we saw that games like Resident Evil 7 worked great with VR support just added on to the base game, and I was hoping with the added power of PS5 - and the foveated rendering thanks to eye tracking - that they could manage to pump out more VR support on standard games.

It may still come to pass, obviously, but I would have expected them to show off support via their first party titles if that were the case. Still VERY excited for PSVR2, the specs sound INSANE. Truly looking forward to its release.

TheDoomedGuy870d ago

I prefer them dedicating games to VR instead of adding it as a feature for games not made with VR in mind

IanTH870d ago (Edited 870d ago )

I'd never want them to stop making VR-specific games altogether, obviously. But I do hope to see more RE7 typed VR support.

There are so many game properties that will never come to VR otherwise, and I'd love a chance to get fully immersed in their worlds. And it'd be great to be able to play in VR and then move back to playing in 2D whenever the mood suits you. It's a great option in No Man's Sky & RE7!

Kane22870d ago

well RE7 wasn't full VR it was just head tracking. you still used a ps4 controller to do everything else. RE4VR is what i would like for PSVR2 or maybe bioshock.....

IanTH870d ago

Sure, no tracked controllers in RE7, but it did at least let you inhabit that world. It put a whole different feel to that game being IN it. But I do think my point would have been better made using No Man's Sky like I did in my 2nd comment, just so happened RE7 was the first thing that popped into my head.

RE4VR is a really well done conversion, all things considered. Playing on Quest 2, I like that they went for physicalized storage of weapons and ammo - it makes games that use radial dials (like Half Life: Alyx) feel outdated, honestly. Even with lower quality visuals than we get in newer VR games, RE4 still holds up in terms of atmosphere.

I think a Bioshock VR game (or just a conversion like RE4) would be awesome. Given Quest is focusing on older 3D games to bring into VR, I'm hoping we see more of that too going forward given the power of the PS5. Getting older PS3 or PS4 games into VR I'd think would be totally doable!

Magog870d ago

When people talk about PS4 exclusives they always forget all of the amazing games for PSVR. Sony isn't going to let that happen with PSVR2. They are pulling out the big guns!

SullysCigar870d ago

This. PSVR has loads of exclusive games and some of them are belters. The tech for PSVR2 sounds awesome and knowing they're bringing AAA games and 'hybrids' is a game changer for getting the attention of traditional-only gamers.

TravsVoid870d ago

That only happened because people weren't willing to spend the price of the console for motion controls and as a result the headset had less than a Vita level install base. That could very well happen again depending on the price of this new headset.

Garethvk63d ago

I can finally play Half Life Alyx.

mariopasta63d ago

I can finally watch pron, I mean watch pronouns be pronounced in PC VR games that were previously not available on Playstation.

crazyCoconuts63d ago

be careful not to sprain your... tongue pronouncing those pronouns

Profchaos63d ago

I'm excited for that to plus I can try fallout 4 VR always wanted to play that

crazyCoconuts63d ago

I was lucky and held off on 4 until I played it in VR. It really is pretty awesome - you'll love it.

DaReapa63d ago

The icing on the cake would be if Sony / Valve allow for a Steam Link app much like it is for the Quest 3. Likely wishful thinking, though.
