Ummmm...it seems like the older version looks better in many way compared to the new one. Am I missing something here? Honest question as I haven't played these games since they originally came out and was actually kind of interested in picking it up (I know, I shouldn't support this stuff but hey...). Now I am not too sure. Seems really odd.

The characters were made to look more realistic at the time and look to have had more defined facial features, now they've made them go the opposite way. The indoor lighting appears to make almost everything look quite red as well.

2021 details looks better but the colors tones could be better dont like the 2021 version, original colors look better.

This is a case were more realistic lightning makes things look worse. Everything used to be cartoonishly bright but it meshed well with the graphics.

Ok. Just watched the comparison IGN posted and it looks much better in their comparison. Something seemed off with this video but IGN cleared it up for me.

I feel like the 2021 version is the switch or something, the resolution is way blurry and looks gross.

Word on the street is these games were being worked on for two years and yet... the finished product tells a different story. Modders did a far superior job.

This is kind of reminiscent of when 2D sprites that were designed for CRTVs were brought onto HDTVs and they don't look as good as when they were on CRTV. Reminds me of when they stuck those weird models over the default game in FF8 and past it off as a remaster.

Wow, i fond the original looks alot better. Lighting upgrade? The first scene showed in the video shows the old versions lighting looking much more atmospheric, at least in that 1 scene. Maybe the original has 'baked' lighting whereas the new version has real time, but when the graphics look like this i thinks its better presented in the old way. Thank God they updated the headlight textures though... Original is alot clearer as well in this demonstration. 2 years of work (apparently) for a whole lot of nothing. I'll continue to play these games on my Vita
