If you're looking for a complete package with great voice acting and a deep engaging story, then this sure as hell isn't it...but if you just want a nice looking, action packed shooter hybrid game with some cool gameplay elements to bash through for a few hours then this will suit you (and me) just fine.

the gameplay is fantastic, I haven't played the whole game just the prelude that's on xbox series x which was a delight to play. I'd definitely check that out if you are interested in this game.

That's part of the charm though. It's unique. It's mixing in ideas and elements from action games that you would never see in an fps.

Well from what Ive read he still built the game by himself and now after its Steam success he wanted to update it with more content for a roughly 20hr campaign= rebranded as Infinte, in order to get it done for a timely release he only outsourced the 3D art portion....thats still an amazing accomplishment by 1 guy.

the base game was made by one person, then more were brought in to complete "infinite". the main point being this wasn't made by a AAA developer, but when you put its gameplay up against some of the top FPSs out there, it blows them away in that specific regard.

Having played this game on steam I can tell you it's not very good. Great concept poor execution. Cumbersome gameplay mechanics, camera is your enemy because game moves too fast,, annoying puzzles. Games just not as fun as it looks. Think it was like 20 bucks on steam immediately refunded.

you played the prelude/demo, it wasn't complete. you have not played this. I played the original and it was really fun, but yes incomplete and unfinished. (the puzzles weren't hard at all and were pretty infrequent.)

The cam shake while aiming down sights has always been stupid imo and I haven't personally played it but my fears are what you've just mentioned.

I do agree. Depending on the game, roughly 20 to 40 % of the screen can be occupied by the 3rd person character body model at all times.

Immediately theres a reduction in frontal awareness and various perceptual limits. You will always miss information thats behind the body model and have to rely on short term memory and usually need to move the camera often. Outriders on full speed runs, you will see the issue.

Even first person shooter guns have techniques to make a slim profile weapon that lowers while running and all sorts of tricks.

A very easy way to understand this is, imagine your regular mouse cursor on windows was replaced with a 3rd person body and crosshair to navigate everything. You would have to move the body to find and icon, while in first person you have already seen it and are just waiting for your brain to make a decision. Its a slice of the problem. Therefore on games where you need to interact with objects,doors, things, loot, hacking something, basically any micro management on screen, first person will always feel least intrusive. Fallout, Skyrim, Cyberpunk, Deus Ex, etc etc

Second way is observe your own eyesight, its first person.

If you get analytical, first person has immense advantages for immersion. In correctly scaled environments and a well curated camera along with fov, first person is closest to how we see the world.

The animations overall are looking pretty poor, and there isn't alot that can be done to fix it. They're not as bad as Mass Effect Andromeda for instance, but that swimming animation 20secs in, is very poor.

It looks alright for action cheese factor. Only thing that gets me is that back flip to evade the sword strike of the boss. The boss strikes the ground, she evades. He swings high and she back flips high. Boss should have been animated to swing a low strike that she back flips from which goes UNDER her as she goes high.

Back flipping high, she should have been hit by a high strike. But that's just me. Maybe I'm looking at that wrong but after multiple rewinds, I see the same thing. I'd still play it though.
