New Flower footage a far cry from green pastures

From GamePro:

"New Flower gameplay footage reveals manmade structures as you possibly fly towards civilization.

An early preview build of Flower dropped in our laps today and we've got some interesting news. The game may feature far more than green pastures and fields of flowers. By the end of the game you may actually be flying across streets of a sprawling cityscape collecting flower pedals from homeowner's balconies."

Okami with these graphics would be godlike.

A mario game, zelda game and pikmen game with these visuals.

This is truly awe inspiring. I have never been so awe struck by a game before. This is the first PSN title to ever truly grab my attention. This game alone will prove to non believers that video games can be considered a work of art. Truly beautiful.

Marceles5634d ago

Yeah if anything, this should give Capcom some kind of inspiration to make Okami 2

barom5634d ago

Okami is already godlike as it is.

True, would look incredible, but would require a lot of work.

Going back to flower... I'm speechless, it's not a game, it's art. Looks incredible, feels incredible just by watching it.

I know its zen gaming...but just think of how much horse power is required to power that game if the developers of flower are to be believed.

I love how last year they took a few jabs at Unreal Engine 3 with comments like:

"I don't think Unreal Engine 3 could render that many blades of grass."

GVON5634d ago (Edited 5634d ago )

imagine a Zelda style adventure in a world with those details,it would rule,i still cant believe the do such good looking games on psn

"By the end of the game you may actually be flying across streets of a sprawling cityscape collecting flower pedals from homeowner's balconies."

especially if the graphics hold a high quality in these sections

ngg123455634d ago

But the game looks like it has zero gameplay. Sigh.. I wouldn't mind if someone uses the grass technology though. Godlike...

Blademask5634d ago

All you need, is a GOAL. Which is what a game is. And looking at this game, it looks interesting to pass the time and enjoy.

cactuschef5634d ago

i have to respectfully disagree with you on this one. The gameplay looks like it will be very fun and addicting.

LeonSKennedy4Life5634d ago

Just by playing flOw, you'll understand what these developers want from this industry. They know how to make something feel "alive". It's a great experience if you just let it take you...and that's really what I think they're trying to accomplish in FlOwer...

mazirjones5634d ago

People are gonna be using a lot of "grass technology."

cactuschef5634d ago

@mazirjones

Ahaha, so true, so true. Lord knows ill be sure to use the high tech grass technology to my benefit when i play this game.

This game has been on my radar for a while, I just hope we're not going to be forced to use the 6AXISOFEVIL.

LeonSKennedy4Life5634d ago

Seriously?

Warhawk?
Ratchet & Clank?
flOw?

You didn't enjoy it in those games?

I'd say it's much more fun to use the sixaxis in Warhawk than it is to use the sticks.

Review - Flower (PC) | WayTooManyGames

WTMG's Leo Faria: "Flower is a gorgeous, well-crafted and relaxing game, but I have to say, I don’t get the massive love towards it. Its “story”, if you can call it that, is far from deep and thought-provoking as some say it is, its duration is borderline insulting for its asking price, and it just doesn’t motivate you to replay it after you’re done with its half a dozen levels. Sadly, Flower isn’t as meaty as it should be. A fair point in a way, given it’s a game about plants…"
