Visually, it looks like God of War 2018 to me (character models, anyway), but the level of detail and color is on another level. The runes on the Leviathan axe are nothing short of immaculate.

By the way, that is not at all me taking a dig at the visuals. Just the opposite actually: the original was so bloody exceptional that it's arguably beyond anything anyone thought possible on PS4. THEN AGAIN, I could only watch at 1080p/60fps.

I do hope Freya will understand what Kratos had to do at the end of the game though, would be nice to see her help him in the third game. She's just consumed by grief, would be a waste to have a good female character in God of War then kill her off.

They made clear this is the conclusion to the "Norse saga" as they described it. Whatever is going to happen with the current cast is going to happen completely in Ragnarok which should make for an epic story.

Where can they take Kratos after Norse mythology though? Will Atreus go with him or will he end up being the last foe Kratos faces - Kratos dies(for real) and the GoW series ends here?

They kept Tyr alive for a reason, they made sure in the first game that we all knew Tyr was traveling between mythologies and Mimir specifically describes Egyptian Mythology when they were in Tyr's vault. So it's very likely that's where they are headed next, whether it be Kratos with Atreus or Atreus by himself. Also I remember Cory saying he had 5 games worth of story so this isn't the end of this story even if they leave Norse lore behind.

Yeah I was just a tad underwhelmed, it doesn't look like the graphics have really improved at all. It being on PS4 as well probably has something to do with that though. And having said that, it's still a great looking game and I really look forward to it. I'm just hoping for some extra little details and flourishes on the PS5 version

Hope it will have a smooth 60fps framerate mode on PS5.

Honestly i have to say, im slightly dissapointed with how it lookee, pretty much looks like ps4 god of war.

Was expecting to have my socks blown off and it just didnt happen.

Ahh well atleast horizon did that with the state of play and gt7 looks just on friggin point.

I was expecting a bigger next gen bump in the graphics department. However this looks exactly like 2018 God of War. It looks like DLC honestly. Where is the next gen sizzle? Even Horizon Forbidden West looked more impressive than this and it's cross-gen as well. I'm sure the game will be fun and a GOTY contender and all that but it didn't wow me like I was expecting it to.
