IGN's Jeremy Dunham finds little to cheer about in his review of Sega's latest in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise.
"Sonic the Hedgehog is a mess. While there are a few glimmers of hope early on when players take control of Silver and his cool telekinesis ability, it's quickly realized that the game's design never really capitalizes on it. The remaining character situations (Shadow's vehicle segments and Sonic's traditional platforming) aren't anywhere near as interesting as Silver's, and the whole game has a forced and generic feel to it. Once you sauté that winning formula with a rack full of technical problems you end up with one hell of a disappointing game."
The popular Sega franchise, Sonic the Hedgehog, has been really successful in recent years, forging paths for the recent upcoming titles.
These sales surged by 150 million compared to last year.
we need a new sonic pinball, with boss battles / hidden stages / 1 sec load times
Still need to check out Frontiers at some point. Just waiting on a really good Steam sale for it.
Elise hasn't been forgotten, even after her infamous debut in Sonic '06.
OMG! Haha a 4.2? Wow that's REALLY bad I wanted this for the 360 than saw the review and realized it sucked, but not this bad. I never realized the Xbox got a slightly better 4.8. Damn Sega, what the HELL are you doing to us?
Why didnt they just delay it. The game is bad on all platforms so I dont see why they didnt try to improve it in some way. Even if the graphics suck you can still make the game fun.
Dunno what happend.
What's wrong with Sega?
They've completely lost their minds over there!!!
yeah its a bad game on both systems....its funny because the article from Gamespot's review also said it was terrible, but I guess they didn't even feel the need to actually "change" the review, just a simple cut and paste job from the 360 review(not very creditable) but they actually rated it a few points lower. Now this IGN review is much better(two different reviews) but the results are still the same....its a bad game. Like I said: "Wassup with Sega?" -its not like they didn't have more time. -Sad.
Should anyone expect this version to be better than the 360. As for how they came up with the final score, it is a mystery. The 360 version had the same breakdown for graphics, sound etc, but scored higher. I guess .6 of a point is how bad the load times were.
Maybe the Sonic on the Wii will be worth playing?
