Metroid Prime is an outstanding game where every little detail -- whether it be mechanical or superfluous -- adds immersion.
Metroid Prime is a detective game at heart, and the Scan Visor is Samus' trusty magnifying glass.
It's been two decades since Metroid Prime first launched and it still holds up fantastically well.
I can’t believe it’s been 20 years since I bought this for my GameCube! My best friend and I ordered pizza for delivery, it was snowing outside and we stayed in all weekend playing it. Still one of my all time favorite games and I really hope the Switch ports being rumored is true. Fantastic game, one for the ages🙂
With the recent release of Dread, it's time to look back on the history of Metroid and rank the best — and the worst.
Best (for me) would be the first Metroid Prime. It was simply amazing the first time i played it. so deep and challenging while also turning the series completely into something that felt new and fresh.
Worst (for me) is most likely Other M. I can appreciate what they were trying to go for but it just felt flat and played out.
Looking at the rest of the list, I never played Federation Force but i have played the rest. Pinball is still one of my favorites to play now and then.
Metroid Prime is a very good game. Too bad Nintendo is not making the best out of it. I'm glad that we have Returnal which is a very high quality and immersing game with a high Metroid Prime vibe.
We need a the Prime trilogy to be available on the Switch or better yet and entire Metroid Anthology in one package but that's probably too much to ask for
If Returnal was like Metroid in its design instead of the roguelike which I hate. It would be amazing, love Returnal just to bloody hard to be enjoyable for me personally.
Great game, and yes it is very immersive like most Metroid games, esp. in Metroid Prime Trilogy Pal version (for the actual 16:9 aspect ratio) for the Wii played on PC, with the possibility to create more orthodox controls for a normal controller like the DS4 more in line with what gamers would expect from an FPS. My only problem is that the aimsight sometimes remains stuck in a direction until I stop moving the left analog stick and readjust it with the right one, I still need to work out the kinks for that, but it's so much better than the default controls that marred the experience for me when I initially installed the GC version.
