1UP: Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars Review

If Mushroom Men did any sort of justice to its artistry and ambitions, 1UP would have something special to talk about. Instead, they are left with a somewhat archaic, unpolished platformer belied by a novel premise and seemingly interesting world to explore. They enjoyed it enough as an introduction to a very cool, deliberate aesthetic, but it's tough not to desire a Mushroom Men game that executes its ideas more skillfully -- never mind one that takes more than five hours to finish.

I had high hopes for this game. I'll probably ask for it for Christmas or just buy it eventually cause while not revolutionary, it still looks (and based from a couple of reviews) like a decent platformer.

BeefJack: Mushroom Men - The Spore Wars Review

BeefJack writes: "Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars is a miniature 3D action/adventure platformer. I say miniature as it is played out from a 3-inch high perspective with some really original characters and themes that make for good eye candy throughout the game. The whole world is intriguing as you set out on your adventure playing through gardens, grass, logs, trees and pipes, and over tabletops, sinks, toilets and other household objects. When playing you really do get the feeling you have been shrunk and sucked into the world from a Mushrooms perspective."
