TSA writes: Oblivion, the fourth title in Bethesda’s flagship Elder Scrolls series (and predecessor to the juggernaut that is Skyrim) turns 15 years old today! With that in mind, let’s take a look back at this beloved classic and the foundation that it laid, not just for Bethesda games, but the roleplaying genre at large.
Virtuos is currently working on a multiplatform Unreal Engine 5 remake, which is rumored to be The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.
I thought they’d go for Morrowind first to be honest but this is a welcoming surprise to tide us over before ES6
Unreal Engine isn't efficient for open world games, so I question the reliability of this story.
Hopefully modders can fix the aged combart in this game if this is true. Enemies leveling up with you broke and defeated the whole purpose of leveling up.
Created by Bethesda Softworks, The Elder Scrolls is hailed as one of the most groundbreaking RPG franchises.
GF365: "If you’re a reader, this list of great games for avid readers is for you. Games are a form of art, and some have written literature in them."
It's only a classic because there was no other option at the time.
I remember going through that series of quests to join the mages guild where you had to get a written permit from every mages guild in each town. Many of the quests are ones I still remember to this day in that sequence. Even when joining the mages guild you even got more of a school experience where you got to make your staff and craft your own spells, with the last part actually making you feel like you worked your way up to archmage when you got it.
Then I played Skyrim and became archmage in 4 fetch quests and never needed to cast a single spell.
Why do people like Skyrim over Oblivion again?
This game needs a backwards compatibility 60 fps option patch for Xbox Series consoles
Can't wait to play this in 2025
Can't wait til ES VI.
