By all appearances, Aliens: Fireteam could very well be the action-oriented Aliens title fans have been waiting for.

MP1st has played 10 hours of Aliens Fireteam Elite, and here's everything they learned about the game.
I was kinda skeptical at first given the Alien game track record and, I have to say, am pleasantly surprised at what has been coming out. L4D is a great influence for this type of game.
Always gotta make the aliens the bad guys.. The humans are the real villians. Why can't we play as Alien xenomorphs ripping apart those pesky humans to pieces
COG writes: Titles like Alien vs. Predator allow you to take the role of Xenomorphs whilst Alien Isolation positioned you at the opposite end, trying to avoid the beast. Looking to put teamwork at the helm, Aliens: Fireteam Elite is a co-op shooter but will it capture the atmosphere of the incredible franchise?
The only thing that has my full attention for pure multiplayer fun is S&box and possibly Back 4 Blood if the beta is good. But this seems a little meh
Looks like a fairly by the books horde shooter with an Alien skin, from what I've seen. I'm sure the game is fun and well made, but I can't say it blew me away by any means.
I just hope the game is more than just a horde mode.
I’ll wait for back 4 blood thanks....
Looks proper "meh".
How long can this keep your attention though just mindlessly shooting wave after wave of aliens? I so wish they would mirror the movies with an isolation sequel where you do go in with the big guns like in alien2 but the threat from one alien is still very high. So it's tense but you do have the weaponry the second time round to deal with them to a certain degree. Obviously there would be sections where you are alone and under powered to tie it in with isolation For me publishers don't seem to be able to move past either waves of aliens or one threatening alien with this franchise when the balance is somewhere in the middle. Resident evil doesn't throw 30 zombies at you over and over again. They allow tension to build up and your imagination provide the horror for awhile before (as Hudson says) the sht really hits the fan
