They are because we've wanted them for years

The issue for most, even though I'm not fully bothered myself, is the chosen art style when the Pokemon Lets Go art direction seemed like something they could have expanded on. I hated Lets Go, and I hated how much they dumbed down the games BUT the art style was pretty nice.

For me, I don't see why these remakes continue the "two game" bullshit, they should just remake the third game so everything is included.

It's time for Game Freak to leave the two version thing behind.

Replaying Let's Go again as I've changed my opinion on it, but only slightly. Did you know there's a way to skip specific cutscenes manually? Something they couldn't bother to implement in S&S. The game is actually pretty quality, only it's simplicity holds it back.
Art styles come and go and in think most can look past em, but when you have Links Awakening looking the way it does on the Switch these remakes disappoint on that front. As for 2 versions of the same game that's complete BS and just pure greed. They've made a third version back on the DS they could've remade that one and call it a day.

i actually dont mind the two version thing, but ill gladly have only one if that means that they can make them better, graphically and .. animation wise. but its gamefreak. that will never happen. i hated lets go cause of the non existent pro controller support. i hate motion control, especially if it means i have to have two weird arse things in my hands, that are already too small for toddlers. and yes. theyve gotten too easy. and too childish.

the thing is that its targeted at kids, who get a stiffy when they find someone who has the other version, but the fanbase has grown up. i actually dont know a whole lot of young people who are DESPERATE for pokemon games. its more the grown ups who lose their shit when theres a new pokemon game coming out ha.

Never played the orginals, so I'll gladly pick one up.

Just polishing a turd. Why remake rushed low-effort yearly games? The remake is also rushed low-effort.

--Onilink--1165d ago

Yearly games? There are 8 generations in 25 years.... math isnt that hard

Nebaku1165d ago

And there are multiple games in a generation. 3 on average. 3*8 = 24. 24 games in 25 years = 1 game roughly a year.

Math isn't that hard.

--Onilink--1165d ago

That doesnt make them yearly games. You are counting the remakes that you are complaining they make to get to that amount, which makes no sense. Not to mention counting the (3rd version is pushing a bit as well)

A yearly game is fifa, madden, etc. Even COD is technically a yearly game but each one is handled by a different dev so not quite yearly in terms of dev time

Neonridr1165d ago

@Nebaku - but they don't release every year, do they? Far from it.

septemberindecember1165d ago (Edited 1165d ago )

@Nebaku

The multiple games in a generation are utilizing the exact same map. Ruby and Sapphire, Diamond and Pearl, Red and Blue, none of these pairs are two entirely different games. They are the same game with different Pokémon. In addition, the third game utilizes the same map as the pairs, but makes some improvements to the formula and adds new mons.

The generations and remakes count, but the different versions don't count as separate releases.

@--Onilink--

Pokemon games and its spin-offs are worse than CoD in terms of release. just the core series release alone only had skipped a year couple of times since 1996 but it's pretty much a yearly title by now. and if you include spin-offs, there have been multiple Pokemon games every year since 1996. UNLESS you wanna call these wiki pages liars.

LOL all disagrees for facts. Nintendo fanboys can't accept the truth

--Onilink--1164d ago (Edited 1164d ago )

@badz

You probably have all those disagrees because no one is talking about the spin off games, its not like those get remakes anyway (the only one I can remember is 1 mystery dungeon remake)

And second, just as I said to the others, it doesnt make much sense to call them yearly games when complaining about remakes, but then having to rely on those remakes (and third versions) to actually pull off the math to turn them into “yearly” games.

New Mainline pokemon games (which are the ones getting remakes) release every 2-3 years, its as simple as that

I like how Pokemon can be summed up as colorful chicken fights.

I bought a switch lite last year just for when I travel with a few games like CTR and okami HD. But the best game so far is easily Spyro Reignited Trilogy.
