Diablo 2 Resurrected Announced With Gameplay, Will Feature Cross-Progression

Looks like the rumors were true! At BlizzCon 2021, Blizzard announced Diablo 2 Resurrected which is a re-imagining (remaster) of sorts for the classic action-RPG and its expansion! It's announced to come to PC, Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S

One of my favorite games of all time. Can’t wait to play this!
Glad they upgraded the graphics without giving it the D3 look.

Also Nintendo needs to take notes! A major visual upgrade with improve frame rates and animations for the price of $40.

Nitrowolf21174d ago

yep, excited for this one, as long as Blizzard didn't mess up with it somehow, should be a good remaster

VerminSC1174d ago

Different team/developer than their last remaster. I watched a 40min deep dive, and the team really seems to care about D2.

notachance1174d ago

vicarious visions is handling this remaster, and they have very good track record with crash bandicoot and tony hawk remakes

I mean Nintendo would take notes if they didn't sell well.

I don't get why people keep bashing them when millions buy the games at $60 no problem, same with their other titles.

Would I enjoy a lower price? Sure, but they're the smart ones here.

Shiken1174d ago

Why would Nintendo need to take notes? SSHD will sell more than double what it did on Wii.

Not that I agree with the price, but its true.

remixx1161173d ago

Its not that complicated, nintendo should take notes because their remasters are a low effort cash grab. SSHD being the latest example

SM3D world was good though.

Shiken1173d ago (Edited 1173d ago )

@remixx116

The point went over your head. Value is determined by the market demand, not a vocal minority of upset forum comments. If the game is going to sell at least double what the original did at 60 dollars, then Nintendo has no reason to "take notes". If it bombs due to the 60 dollar tag (it won't), then one could say Nintendo should take notes.

Again I am not saying I agree with the price. I feel it should be 40 dollars...buuuuuut...I want to play Skyward Sword on my Switch soooo....

I'll look forward to this, but I won't give communist blizzard a single cent.

I'll be buying this used.

dennigo1174d ago

remember warcraft 3 remaster

DarkKaine1173d ago

That's because remasters on Nintendo consoles are like porting games from a Pentium 2 to a Pentium 3. It's still stone age tech, but it looks a lil better I suppose.

This is so cool. Now this is a remaster, not that HD port crap. It's funny cuz I just recorded a podcast talking about my favorite games and I talked about while I loved Diablo 2 very much, I think Diablo 3 is better. Will probably play this as well. Very cool. Can't wait for part IV.

VerminSC1174d ago

D3 better than D2?! In what way??

ActualWhiteMan1174d ago (Edited 1174d ago )

You must have been born after the year 2000.

Germaximus1174d ago

lol This makes no sense. 77 fyi. Played D2 for five and a half years. New podcast started at https://www.youtube.com/pla...

In a couple weeks my episode will be up that's about my favorite games and includes my thoughts on Diablo 2 and 3.

For me, Diablo 3 was a huge letdown. Probably the biggest letdown I've ever felt with video games (and I've been gaming since the early 90s). 4 is looking better than 3, but I'm excited about this remaster more so. Diablo 2 was my game for so many years growing up. It was the first time I'd ever bought a MT for any game as well. I never made that into a common practice either but I'd probably by that Tal Rasha set again if they had some kind of store

Nice graphical overhaul, while still keeping the look and tone of the original.

solideagle1174d ago

will it have co-op and cross play? that would be cool to play with pc friends

RazzerRedux1174d ago

I'm going to be all over this. But honestly, why not do the first Diablo? I'd love to replay both in order. Maybe if this is successful they will go back and remaster the first as well?

Epicor1174d ago

First one was a great game but it’s very outdated already and not just in terms of graphics. The game was a pioneer game but all the aspects very really basic on today’s standards including (including level design). Remaster wouldn’t help that much. D2 on the other hand is simply better on every single aspect so the remaster makes sense,

What Can Diablo IV Learn From Diablo II

Diablo IV may be the latest entry from the Diablo series, but it can sure learn a thing or two from the iconic Diablo II. Both of these games are different and similar to each other, but Diablo II's phenomenal presence should still be more appearing in Diablo IV to make the game even better in its current state.
