So many good games this year! The only silver lining in an otherwise shit year.

Fluttershy771231d ago

I think - my opinion, I know many of you will disagree - this wasn't a great year for gaming. I liked The Last of Us 2. But comparing it with 2019 and 2018 this year pales.

VerminSC1231d ago

I definitely disagree

TLOU2, Ghost of Tsushima, Doom Eternal, Final Fantasy VII remake, Animal Crossing, Nioh 2, Ori and The Will of the Wisp, Spider man Miles Morales, half life Alyx, Dreams, Resident Evil 3 remake, Demons Souls Remake, Immortals Fenyx Rising, Watch Dogs Legion, and Cyberpunk 2077

2018 was pretty good, 2019 was bad imo. 2020 was great ( only gaming wise, otherwise shittiest year of my life )

Skuletor1231d ago

I see some comments like this on all sorts of media, movie trailers, music videos etc "The only good thing about 2020" Bleh

blackblades1231d ago (Edited 1231d ago )

So many good games that I still havent played. Spiderman was the last good game I played until I got addicted to certain f2p game on a top of another f2p game on top of another f2p game and back to overwatch again. They ruined my gaming career I couldve played and beaten so many games but nope.

This was the most horrific year that I lived through because of this horrible pandemic including losing a dear friend to suicide 2 months ago but I must say 2020 was a fantastic year for video games which made me temporarily take my mind off some of the horrible things that were going on in this world.

S2Killinit1230d ago (Edited 1230d ago )

The 2020 gaming was great. Everything else in the world fell apart. 2021 is the turning point baby come on!

Persona 5 Royal is my top 10 game of all time. A true masterpiece.

Barlos3d ago

Same here. Not only is it one of my favourite RPGs, it's also one of my favourite ever games. I keep coming back to it time and time again.

DustMan2d ago

Why not read one of the reviews and find out?

4.8? This game is literally one of the best modern JRPGs. I’d give it the perfect score.

Persona: How A Spin-Off Game Series Can Ruin The Original

"Newer Persona games dive into the simulation of a high school student at the cost of RPG mechanics compared to Shin Megami Tensei." - Najam from eXputer.

DrDoomer24d ago

Persona (particularly 3,4 and 5) is the best thing to come out of Atlus, by far. The only way other games get ruined is by paling in comparison.

gold_drake24d ago (Edited 24d ago )

thats a hot take if ive ever seen one.

atlus aint just persona.

they have plenty of games that are fantastic that are not persona.

maybe in sales sure but not in quality.

DrDoomer24d ago

Not saying those games are bad. I'm saying Persona is just that good.

Tapani14d ago

I enjoy the SMT core series much more vs the Persona series. I like how it is much darker and more hardcore as an RPG. I've played all of them through and they never disappoint.

Stopac24d ago

That's a bad take.

SMT had a niche following. So did persona. They redid persona starting with three to reach an wider audience. Nothing happened with the original SMT and have stayed the way they were. If they were to revamp that main series you could get what happened with soul hackers lol. You want that?

Barlos23d ago (Edited 23d ago )

A spin off is a spin off. Why would they ruin the original? If you like the original then that's great, you can carry on enjoying it. If the spin off is crap it has no impact on the original at all.

I love Persona 5 and P5R but I have zero interest in Strikers or Tactica but even if I played them and didn't like them they wouldn't ruin the original games for me.

Same goes for if you like the SMT games but don't like Persona, why would that suddenly make SMT bad?

That’s how it is with most movies. Why should it be any different with games?

Eonjay55d ago

It could also be that development cost were just very very low.

I think it's about time for government agencies to step into mobile gaming and look around, this is shit.
