If Sony was to announce a MGS remake made by Bluepoint that will be beyond epic.

Babadook71271d ago (Edited 1271d ago )

Isn't this just the red dragons roar?

mrsolidsteel201271d ago

@GaboonViper

Hope not, then you will never be able to play it ;)

bouzebbal1271d ago

MGS remake would be the best thing ever.. Let them hopes up!!!

Nyxus1271d ago

Not getting my hopes up yet, it is Konami after all, but it would indeed be awesome.

Viking_mo1271d ago

But remember the rumours about Sony buying some of their IPs. If anything, this fuels it now

jukins1271d ago

Well Kojima won't be involved so Konami will probably give the ok. They're really bitter towards Kojima sony not so much.

Sonic-and-Crash1271d ago (Edited 1271d ago )

@viking can you show me the link about these rumors ?? (that sony bought some IPs) ...would be huge if MGS is Sony exclusive

Pretentious1270d ago

Just imagine. They announce MGS Remake, as well as a Silent Hill reboot (this has been rumored to show up at the Game Awards). That would just leave Castlevania and Suikoden to resurrect. I'm mad a Konami just like everyone else, but I think it's about time they bounced back.

Z5011271d ago

PS1 iso version or Gamecube Twin Snake version?

whateverman1271d ago

PS1 for the true experience.

mrsolidsteel201271d ago

@Z501

Twin Snakes was/is a masterpiece in its own right . I think a lot of people hate the game because it never came over to any of the Sony systems. Which is understandable, because the game didn’t sell that well being exclusive on the Gamecube.

CosmicTurtle1271d ago

I own Twin Snakes. I don’t think it is the best version. Nothing to do with what system it came out on. I was really excited for it at the time, the mechanics just felt incongruous with the design from my perspective. But if that is your preferred version then I get that entirely. In contrast the GameCube Resident Evil remake was astounding and I far prefer it to the original. I wish they’d done that with 2.

Rocketisleague1271d ago

Preferred re2 remaje to re1 remake but 1 was petty damn good update. Depends on how deep lot the want to modernise the gameplay, personally I'd love to see a fully updated mgs 1 with newer mechanics

Flan1271d ago

It will be epic if the remake Metal Gear 2 (MSX) solid snake vs Venom snake

Pretentious1270d ago

Really, they could remake any MGS, 1 - 4, and people would be ecstatic.

savedsynner1271d ago

Agreed 10000000%. MGS is the perfect game to receive a full on remake. It's a beloved franchise it's IP owners are going nothing with right now. It would really benefit from modern gameplay improvements, it's been largely a Playstation exclusive series for the first run titles(not counting the hd collection or the remaster for gamecube or the OG NES/MSX games). They wouldn't even have to re record everything. The voice acting more than holds up today.

I think we are going to see alot more of these full remakes, ala what Disney is doing. Many of them, if they are done even remotely well, should be good sellers and they require a lower budget from the studio.

Rocketisleague1271d ago (Edited 1271d ago )

So like...a resident evil 2 style remake or a graphical update/bluepoint remake? Id rather a new gameplay system to be honest. Bluepoint haven't needed to really design a game from the ground up yet just smaller updates or graphical enhancements.

It's time for a real mgs remake imo

GaboonViper1271d ago

Can it be, can it really be true, MGS remake from the ground up???, if so i think i would actually cry with happiness, all i would need then is a Dino Crisis reboot and i could die happy.

Snookies121271d ago

There was a rumor a short while ago that MGS was getting a full remake. So, here's hoping it's actually true! I just hope we get the original Encounter music back for boss fights. It's one of the few reasons I didn't like Twin Snakes back in the day. That, and the change in voice actor for Grey Fox.

Nyxus1271d ago

Personally I prefer TTS's voice for Gray Fox as you could clearly hear in the original that it was the same voice actor as the DARPA Chief.

GaboonViper1271d ago

Yeah RedTechGaming is the source of that rumour, his track record is solid 😀 so fingers crossed.

Rocketisleague1271d ago

Big step for bluepoint to do a full remake. Do they even have gameplay designers at bluepoint? I'm a little confused as I thought they focus on updating games graphically and/or sound? Yhey dont normally design games, gameplay systems/ mechanics/ stories etc

Nacho_Z1271d ago

@Rocketisleague

As you say we don't know yet how they'd do with a Resi 2 type remake, but if the ones they've done so far have been a test of sorts they've passed with flying colours. The next logical step is for them to take on a more ambitious remake that requires more original thinking.

Rocketisleague1271d ago (Edited 1271d ago )

Yes nacho...Or perhaps an original game? Again I'm not sure what expertise or budget bluepoint generally receive, one would assume it's pretty focused around graphical and performance integrity. Budget I imagine are smaller since they're remakes and remasters. Call it easy money for Sony, many people love to play older games. On sonys side they can charge full price now for games on smaller budget than a full new game.

It depends entirely on what don't expects put of it if it goes the way of resi 2 remake.or ff7 remake.probably a bigger studio would do it.

I.womder how much.demons souls cost, graphical updates aside the music and voice acting was done.again too. They wouldnt need art designers, writers, story boards etc. Vrry curious around this procees

OMG i just had a thought, could you imagine how BP could use Tempest audio and DualSense for Psyco Mantis boss fight.😮😮

fr0sty1271d ago

Add to that the ability to scan PSN for what games you've played, your trophies, when you play most often, enabling your playstation camera or mic... there's so many more ways that the fourth wall can be broken now, a psycho mantis battle could be made truly epic today.

IanTH1271d ago

The PSN info on games played or trophies earned, things like that, I'm sure would be totally fine. I have the feeling they wouldn't mess around with enabling your camera or mic, though. I can see people being uncomfortable with that, and I could see it creating a bunch of negative press. It would be awkward to know a game could just switch on your camera whenever it wants to without your permission lol.

camel_toad1271d ago

The Psycho Mantis fight and when Campbell hinted to look on the back of your cd case for the codec frequency.... People who turn their noses up to Kojima are questionable human beings.

ginsunuva1271d ago

And what you did on the internet with your cookies

Black-Helghast1270d ago

bruh if that shit turns my camera on and I'm naked...I'd be very happy

all jokes aside lmao imagine him making fun at the fact that you have all the platinums for every mgs except that one

Xbox No Longer Has Its Head In The Game

Microsoft & Xbox have shut down Arkane Austin and Tango Gameworks to lay off more workers, insinuating that they're not in the game anymore.

XiNatsuDragnel2d ago

They're headless for a long time because closing tango isn't exactly a good move

PapaBop1d 6h ago

Ever since that cringe Kinect reveal they've never been the same. They used to make some amazing games and do great deals with third parties Early on in the 360 era they had games like Chromehounds and Shadowrun, both well ahead of their time. Now instead of nurturing their studios, they'd rather gaslight gamers and throw billions on pre existing studios. Not sure how Spencer is still in a job, I wouldn't trust him to organise a piss-up in a brewery.

Father__Merrin1d 6h ago

We've said all along Spencer needs to go. I wish xbox went back to xbox only with new gears fable forza halo releases lots of third party releases

Those early rainbow 6 Vegas days and phantasy star universe are gone forever

S2Killinit1d 3h ago

MS has its head in the game but the game they are playing is something different from what console gamers expect from a platform. MS’s end game has always been to use the xbox as a trojan horse.

XiNatsuDragnel1d 1h ago

Lol that's funny well this plan they have isn't working homie

All damage reduced to 1 for 343 trillion turns.
MICROSOFT DEFENSE FORCE IS A GO

Tacoboto1d 23h ago

Especially for Microsoft, when Booty pretty much said they didn't know how to handle that many studios.

Why even make the acquisition then.

-Foxtrot1d 22h ago

Didn’t they make the swipe for Bethesda when Sony wanted like 6 months exclusiveness for Starfield

It’s like…chill, you got Rise of the Tomb Raider for a year.

romulus231d 22h ago

Do they always come with senseless cuts becasue that's exactly what cutting Tango was, senseless.

H92d ago

Everyone's acting now that game companies care about games and Xbox is committing the Ultimate betrayal, they are all like this and you have just been quiet about it for far too long

Nuclearmoon1d 22h ago

I wonder if Microsoft do pull out of the console market that it might open the door for valve to relaunch the Steambox. Competition is good for the industry but Microsoft don't even seem to be trying anymore.

UltimateOwnage1d 19h ago

Steam / Valve are one of the few truly pro-consumer bright spots in gaming right now. Thankfully.

Jingsing7h ago

From all the money Valve make from Steam they reinvest almost 0 into creating new AAA titles for the PC platform, Absolutely no giving nothing back in that regard. Wake up.

Former Dragon Age lead writer David Gaider pours scorn on EA's AI dreams.

"They want you to believe the devs under them are super stoked to work generative AI into their processes," continued Gaider, "but I assure you what they took as excitement was really a veiled wail of despair not unlike the time that team was informed of their new 'really cool' live service mandate.".

Publishers see gaming as another stock market.

isarai2d ago

I think anyone with some common sense knew this, im glad i don't support their games anymore, what a sh!t company.

Psychonaut852d ago

Friends don’t let friends buy EA or Ubisoft.

Chocoburger2d ago

I said this yesterday. AI isn't what we want when it comes to crafting artistry. Alas, these soulless corporate morons don't care about their work, only about cutting corners as much as possible.
