The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV - Review — ASG

"Trails of Cold Steel, or rather, the entire Legend of Heroes series, is one of the most unique JRPG’s out there. Rather than reinvent itself for every new iteration, developer Nihon Falcom has just kept the story going. While Trails of Cold Steel IV is the fourth and final entry in the Cold Steel series, this is actually the ninth Legend of Heroes game across some 16 years, with only a select few of the other titles not localized outside of Japan. Regardless, the entire roster of characters across all three arcs are here, poised to prevent a war that could result in the deaths of millions. Trails of Cold Steel III did a lot to set the stage for a climactic finish, and this fourth and final entry does not disappoint." Jeff Young - Analog Stick Gaming

Absolutely loved this game. I've seen it getting 8's and 9's, and I would have been right there alongside those 9's if not for a few late-game moments.

AnnaDea1306d ago

I'm still in chapter 1 on Cold Steel III.

But good to know that I can continue directly when finished.

AnalogStickGaming1305d ago

Nice! I hope you have fun with it!

jznrpg1305d ago

I have to get a game finished before I start 4 but I love this series . I actually bought a tshirt and I never buy tshirts for any game or whatever print

AnalogStickGaming1305d ago

Yah, I've seen tons of nice shirts for it. Tho, I want the Japanese only artbook for 3, and the one I've seen for 4 is equally impressive.

gold_drake1305d ago

still havent played the third one lol them games are soo expensive and rarely go on sale.
but i loooved the first two

AnalogStickGaming1305d ago

Keep checking the PlayStation store, when 3 released for the Switch, the PSN store had 1-3 all on sale. Maybe when 4 releases on the 27th, they might put them all on sale.

Great series I'd encourage people to try out, but I'm not sure you should start with 3.

shinoff218334d ago

I've finally got the whole series on ps4/ps5 besides the sky triology. I'm going to play the sky games on steam and move onto the Playstation ones. I've been dying to get into it.

raWfodog33d ago

Yeah he mentioned that in the article.

Knightofelemia33d ago

I was going to but 3 and 4 on PS4 but when I read they both were hitting PS5 I just waited. My problem is I have a shit load of games I have to work on.

Barlos33d ago

But I don't want to. Please don't make me

gold_drake33d ago

my issue is that they are still very expensive games and those games are a commitment ha.

I own these games for PS4 but getting this version for PS5 anyway because I love the series. I preordered it at least 6 months ago so I wouldn’t forget. Hopefully they port the first 2 games together next.

NIS Europe has a pretty neat box: https://store.nisaeurope.co...

I already own them on PS4 as well, otherwise I'd get the PS5 version for sure.

shinoff218392d ago

I really hope they can figure out a way to get part 1 and 2 to ps5.
