Gears 5 Trailer Showcases Xbox Series X & S Update and Dave Batista as Marcus Fenix

Today Microsoft and The Coalition released a new trailer of Gears 5 featuring the upcoming update for Xbox Series X and S.

I dont mind him playing Marcus in a movie but he looks too young to play him in Gears 5. It like the Peter Parker change in Spiderman remastered. I get a character change is needed but at least try to get someone who fits the time frame. they could have give Batista a scruffier beard and he would be better than he is in this vid.

How old is Fenix meant to be in Gears 5?

@venom, he was 37-38 in Gears 3 and Gears 4 takes place 25 years after Gears 3. So... 62-63. Batista is 51.

VenomUK I dont have exact numbers but for the time pased described he should be over 60. In gears 1 he already had had a carreer and was in a high military rank, then he went to prison and was there for years, then the games passed and after gears 3 more years passed. Gears 3 is 16.5 years after Emergence Day(18 months after Gears 2 ended). And Marcus was 21 during Emergence Day. That places him at roughly 37/38 during Gears 3. Gears 4 is 25 years after 3 so he should be about 62/63

I like the original marcus more but this was interesting non the less. options are also great.
but you can also see how well the artists made marcus look compared to using a real person instead.

Because Bautista has wanted to play Marcus in a Gears movies for years and years. I hope it happens some day tbh.
