From Eurogamer: "When Nightdive Studios announced it was working on a remaster of the beloved 1997 point-and-click adventure Blade Runner, it said the game would come out on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch later in 2020. Eurogamer can reveal that won't happen, as development on the game has run into a raft of challenges that have complicated the work.
Nightdive Studios, which is known for restoring classic games such as System Shock and Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, secured a licence from Blade Runner rights holder Alcon Entertainment back in December 2019, and set to work remastering Westwood Studios' cinematic adventure."
Playing on a PC with a 3070 RTX Skewed and Reviewed noted that the trailer seems to show better graphics than the reality of the actual game.
Looking forward to this one. Nightdive Studios and Alcon Entertainment Digitally Re-Release Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition on PC and Consoles Alongside Limited Run Games Physical Editions Classic Adventure Game Based on Ridley Scott’s Science Fiction Epic Available Now on PC and Consoles.
Running the PS4 build on PS5. It looked better running on SummVM. Since Nightdive and Alcon never had access to the source assets, they had to retreat and up-res from a final build. It does run smoothly and the interface is nice (simple), but everything is a blurry anti aliasing mess. A lot of the game literally looks like screen-shots of a bad jpegs that have been blurred to remove any jaggies, and not in a good way. I can appreciate revisiting this title as it is one of my all time favorites, but this "Enhanced edition" Is more like a Grim Fandango's half-baked remaster.
Already downloaded it and I love it!
Was a huge fan of point-and-click adventures back in the day and somehow missed out on this.
A new partnership could provide us with tons of Blade Runner content in the next few years.
