Information drip on The Astronaut's fantasy horror shooter has been a slow burn. First introduced to us through a spooky trailer 2 years ago, people were almost instantly invested in Witchfire due to the pedigree of the developers consisting of industry veterans with titles like The Vanishing of Ethan Carter and Painkiller in their resume. Following a controversy regarding "looter shooter" elements that spawned around 4 blog posts from the developer as a response, we have had a really slow slew of updates. The devs have opened up about why it's been such a quiet couple of years.

Witchfire Early Access Impressions [Boss Level Gamer]

Witchfire is rough around the edges, but updates should continue to improve this game. While the game is dark and gloomy, the future looks bright. If you like Destiny, DOOM, and Souls-like games, you should give this game an honest shot.

Shouldn't have been a roguelite, pretty sure it wasn't when it was first announced. They probabaly turned it into one since they only have two levels after such a long development cycle.

Witchfire's Performance Doesn't Really Improve Much with DLSS 3, and the Hitches Are Still There

Wccftech tested Witchfire, the roguelite FPS in early access. The performance doesn't really improve with DLSS 3, and stuttering is still there.
