I like Fall Guys a lot, but I don't think it can have the long legs of Fortnite or Rocket League.

Those two games rely a lot less in luck, what reward dedicated players more than some aspects of Fall Guys. Maybe over time Mediatonic change the game's core to endure, but for now it doesn't have the appeal for a long competitive multiplayer.

While I agree that it will not be as competitive ever. Maybe because of that people will actually enjoy it even more

Yeah, I always assumed the fact that skill matters less in BR games was a big reason they are popular with so many people. That's not to say skill doesn't matter at all, it obviously does, but someone who would be dead last on their team every game in something like COD or Battlefield can occasionally have a game of Fortnite or Pubg where they make it to the top handful of players, and that can keep them interested in a way they wouldn't be with a traditional shooter.

That's title is a reach. It's a great game and one I've out many hours into for some good old fun but it gets repetitive quickly. For a game like this to keep people playing, they're going to need constant new courses put out quite quickly.

its been out less than a month now and season 2 is starting soon with new courses /outfits etc. all they need to do is keep adding stages and refine the ones that arent that great and this game will have legs for years to come

KyRo1355d ago

Exactly. It's largely why a lot of people on Steam and twitch have stopped watching/playing. It needs more content and with season 2 around the corner, it will no doubt bring in a lot of players who stopped playing back. It's a great game but you cannot compare it in anyway to Fortnites success.

Destiny10801355d ago (Edited 1355d ago )

i think they should add some skiing or water events

andron1355d ago (Edited 1355d ago )

Yeah wouldn't Rocket League be a more apt comparison?

Anyway I doubt it, these mini games don't really have the depth to sustain this for years. They might add and change things to make it last longer, but it needs more to be worthwhile.

Or maybe all gamers want these days are grinding for cosmetics, I don't know...

Outlawzz1355d ago

Haven't tried the game yet. The thought of it having the feel of fortnite has kept me away honestly. I keep saying "I'll try it today" but then I have so many other games with actual story and progression to play so I get easily distracted lol

garos821355d ago

its a great game to tune out of life too. Its mindless fun that i enjoy playing while im listening to podcasts. It feels NOTHING like fortnite
