who cares, just get it if you want it. They dont expect it to be a huge seller obviously.

bouzebbal1369d ago

People are allowed to be upset.. First it's yet another port.. And it's not even remastered. Only blind sheep will think this is a good deal.. Switch is a joke. And Nintendo support is ridiculous

roadkillers1369d ago

... I've never had the opportunity to try Sunshine. I'm pretty stoked.

Sure, I'm bored of SM64 at this point, but I havent played Galaxy as much. I would enjoy another romp through that game especially without the motion controls.

--Onilink--1369d ago

Why isnt it a remaster? It has increased resolution, changed aspect ratio, etc

Its not a remake, but it certainly counts as a remaster.

Dont see why its a bad deal either, sure the limit (on digital at least) is incredibly dumb, but i dont see any issue with the bundle itself (would have liked to see galaxy 2 included though)

King_Noctis1368d ago (Edited 1368d ago )

Did you even watch the trailer? It clearly said that the collection will feature newer HD graphic.

CrimsonWing691368d ago

They um... they did remaster it.

Sirk7x1368d ago

#1 Trending video on Youtube. Trust me, this is going to sell like crazy and Nintendo will laugh all the way to the bank. Anyone on this site has probably played and emulated these games to death over the years. This is a quick holiday release for the average consumer, and they probably decided on it this year after development troubles with other games.

that's my thinking. The game is available until March '21. that's 7 months to buy!! I will admit it's a bit of a Disney move and I dislike the idea but if you want the game you'll have ample time.

At the same time I feel that due to this I've been forced to go ahead and buy it :D soon as I seen this announcement and went to amazon to pre-order because I dont want to miss out. idk that I care about Mario 64 or even Sunshine as I didn't care for it on Gamecube but I have always wanted to play Galaxy but never cared to play it with stupid Wii motes.

darthv721369d ago

digital never runs out of copies. Unless that too is in limited fashion????

Smok911368d ago

It’ll stop being available digitally in March

glennhkboy1368d ago

It is a limited offer, even for the digital version.

Inverno1369d ago

Obviously? Its flipping Super Mario, get out of here.

CrimsonWing691368d ago

I think the point is “getting it”, I’m not sure if you know how scalpers are but they make it impossible to get things.

deafdani1368d ago

I highly doubt that, since the games included on this collection are among the best selling games on the respective consoles they originally came out for. There's absolutely no reason to think this game wouldn't sell well. This decision by Nintendo just makes no sense whatsoever.

Vegamyster1368d ago

That's silly, I'm commenting 4 hours later and you can just preorder on Best Buy if you want it lol.

plmkoh1368d ago

People are just in it for the outrage TBH otherwise they'd just help themselves with an effortless preorder.

Seraphim1368d ago

still available at Amazon too. That's ebay for ya though. :D It may be limited but I wouldn't be surprised if the game sells 10+ million copies plus digital.

UnbreakableAlex1369d ago

Chill down people. They will produce more than enough to meet demand.

qalpha1368d ago

I heard that right this very instant, they have hundreds of people slaving night and day to turn out enough digital versions to meet demand. It is so tiring and exhausting that they can only make enough to get to March, after which they will have to stop for entirely logical and consumer friendly reasons.

Also, fuck Nintendo for following the Disney playbook by artificially creating demand.

FallenAngel19841368d ago

What sort of shortmindedness is this? A collection like this will be highly sought after and they have the nerve to limit its availability

glennhkboy1368d ago

Japanese business love to make their product "limit editions".

Seraphim1368d ago

Like I said in a previous post. It's a page straight from the playbook of Disney. They release a classic cartoon and only leave it on store shelves for X months then pull it. I'm not sure if they still do that but I know they use to. Nintendo might not re-release this on the Switch but I'd be willing to bet this package get's a re-release on their next console. :D

I don't like the idea but at the same time this also forces me to just buy it instead of waiting around for a year or two hoping it goes on sale for $40. I'm actually surprised Nintendo didn't split these up into 3 games. Galaxy for $60, Sunshine for $50-60 and Mario 64 for $40.

JokerBoy4221368d ago

Will this not be available digitally?

Antnee5341368d ago

Yes but it's available only same amount of time as physical

RosweeSon1368d ago

Yeah half a year. Getting it day1 don’t see the issue if you can’t afford it day1 save £10 a month and get it the last month panic over 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣 😂✌🏻

Awesome to see Bayonetta 2 get over a million and the Xenoblade games to do so well! Good numbers all around. Nice to see Nintendo recover after the Wii U.

I still have a sealed copy of this game. I heard it was going to be a limited release so I never opened it. I wouldn’t exactly call 9mil limited however.

It is highly doubtful this game will increase in value, especially on the level that some were expecting. This is one of those "limited" releases that isn't limited at all, like you said. Getting a sealed version of this and keeping it like that will not net you much profit, I can guarantee it.

Knushwood Butt642d ago

Maybe they limited it to 10 million.

Limited lol

Nintendo get away with it again.

HeliosHex642d ago

Nintendo played us yet again. Fattened up their pockets by using the coveted limited release tactic to gain profits by secretly releasing more than they said was available.
I feel this as bad as insider trading. There's a law broken somewhere here. It doesn't feel right. Bastards never again will I listen to their bs.

Sgt_Slaughter642d ago

Who knew Nintendo could piss someone off just by operating as a business that likes money.

CrimsonWing69642d ago

Are you familiar with the concepts of “bad business ethics” and “damaging the confidence of consumers”?

Making money for your business doesn’t always equate to a company doing what’s right.

Neonridr642d ago (Edited 642d ago )

I mean I'm pretty sure 99% of the people who bought the collection just wanted the games to play again.

Just a hunch though.

HeliosHex641d ago

Lol I wasn't one of them.

brewin642d ago

Well I wouldn't buy something they said was limited but didn't included any limited edition stuff. There was no special box or special edition items included so the writing was on the wall. Its like they were trying the old Disney tactic and telling everyone this would go back in the vault soon. Im more upset that it didn't include the excellent Mario Galaxy 2.

Necr0philiac642d ago

Remember amiibo's or how Nintendo was creating artificial Wii shortages! The Wii dominated the news without even having any good games. Parents most of the time are clueless and listen to what media deems popular or sold out.

Smellsforfree642d ago

It was stupid to make it a limited release to begin with. No matter, it is pretty easy to find used copies for people who missed it and want the collection. It is a fine collection, especially having Mario Galaxy which is a pain to emulate because of the controls.

brewin642d ago

Can they just do the Zelda collection already?! Yes we know Mario is popular. But damnit I want a Zelda collection of all the handheld games, including the 3ds remakes of Ocarina and Majora along with the great and underappreciated Link Between Worlds.
